They put out a trailer, I'm going to judge it. It's the same as being skeptical about a game before it comes out. Judging by what I've seen, I'm not impressed or enticed. That is subject to change when I see more. If I seem too harsh, that's your problem, not mine.
I'd agree if the movie were closer to coming out. But as I said, at this stage, they really wouldn't have much prepared footage to show. Editing and all that. I get you saying "I'll hold off any excitement until I see more" but just saying the trailer sucks when all it was really intended to do is say "Hey, there's a new Superman movie coming out next year" doesn't make much sense. It's just a teaser trailer, every big movie has them.

I know a lot of people I know despise Superman.

I don't really know much about him besides the obvious, and the only Supes movie I've seen is Superman Returns.

But the trailer looked cool, and it has a good production team behind it, so I think it will do well.
I find that many people who say they "despise" Superman have reasons that are kind of arbitrary or sometimes just factually incorrect. The greatest of which is "He's so cliché." How can he be cliché when he's the original superhero?!

I'm not saying you aren't allowed to dislike Superman, but maybe don't base your dislike on assumptions, hearsay, and falsities.
I hate him because he's...well, boring. He's immune to bullets, lasers, stabbing, slashing, evil eyes; there's just no threat except whatever the hell lex luthor managed to cook up lately.

At least with batman I knew that a bullet could go wrong and take batty out.

OT: Meh, as I stated, not a fan of superman, but if they give superman the dark knight treatment I MIGHT like it.
I suppose that's fair. I hate Wolverine for similar reasons, but at least Superman has SOME vulnerabilities, like Kryptonite or magic.

Wolverine is just as annoying I agree, he's okay as a background character I guess but as First Class proved you don't need the dude to make a good movie.

But see, while I hate Wolverine for being unkillable, it's not the same for me and Superman. I love Superman because of his character; sure, he's a "boy scout" but in this day and age that's actually kind of nice. Same with Captain America.

But Wolverine, I despise because he's supposed to be a "gruff badass." You know what makes gruff badasses cool? When they laugh in the face of danger. Wolverine is NEVER in danger, so all he looks like is fucking douche. Meh.

Except compare this to a trailer for something like the Avengers. The trailer they put at the end of Captain America was an early stage one as well, with few shots finished, but it still managed to entice.

This one just feels disjointed and off kilter. There's really nothing in it that gives you a taste of what is to come, apart from the three second Superman shot and Clark running around a backyard while horribly out of place music plays.

Fine. Agree to disagree. I guess both of us are just seeing the same thing from two entirely different perspectives.

I hate Superboyscout hes a very uncompelling character. If he wants to help out so bad why not employ his intellect to agricultural advancements or something? No hes gonna fight petty crime and stop supervillians with outlandish schemes that fail on their own half the time.
