After a point, it doesn't matter. A person stops accelerating at terminal velocity.
OT: This is unbelievable, WTF did he land on? See, stuff like this makes me wonder about god.

Yeah, I heard about this on another site. I suppose when he hit those other slopes he slowed down enough not to die on the next impact.

Why try to climb up the eastern slope? There's a walking path on the western side. Much easier...

But seriously, I've seen the eastern side of Ben Nevis and I do not want to drop off there. How he survived with so little injury, a (minor) miracle.
Because he was mountain climbing? It kind of ruins the point if you use a footpath.

It seems like the fall was just a few hundred meters above the ground, at least according to wiki. Still incredible, thought.

I read that when the rescue team found him, he was standing reading a map. That just makes it all the more impressive.

Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in scottland.
I once learned that in my first year of english class.
Also they have a bicycle factory in nottingham!

Anyway. It probably wasn't a drop straight down, but a very very long, very hurtfull slide down a rocky mountainside.

There was a similar occurrence in late 2009 with cameraman James Boole, except his fall was 6000ft.

Surely he was standing on a chair for the duration of the fall and jumped off shortly before hitting the ground.

I suppose once you reach terminal velocity the height doen't really matter. It's all down to air resistance and how you land. Still, it's pretty incredible to think that people can survive that.
