Thats...

Ok, if the police already have a warrant for your arrest, walking into a movie theater like that is just pretty much turning yourself in.
Of course someone is gonna get worried.
Police talk to him, look him up, arrest him for missing his court date.

Not seeing the problem. He wasnt arrested for freaking people out, he was arrested for a previous charge.

Uh...ResonanceSD? You read the story, correct? He wasn't arrested for walking into a theater dressed as the Joker; he was arrested for having an outstanding warrant:

From the first link:
"Police had a warrant for his arrest after he missed a court appearance for a previous misdemeanor charge. He was taken into custody and sent to Brevard County Jail."

Second link:
"Police said Christoper Sides, 21, of Cocoa, was arrested on a warrant for a previous felony charge."

I'm sure he got pulled aside because of the Joker thing but he wasn't arrested for it.

Umm they didn't just arrest him for his choice of make up he had a bench warrant for failure to show up to a court date. Though pink/red hair does not equal the joker god damnit.

Well, it doesn't help that the news articles are the stereotypical "bait and switch" style, not mentioning that information from the very beginning, instead starting off with what his makeup was, where he went and how the police arrested him. Only to reveal afterwards that the previous text is of no fucking relevance. The first article is the worse offender of the two: the legitimate reason gets a whooping paragraph of two sentences. That's immediately after a giant ass picture of the Joker. I mean, I legitimately thought that was the end of the article there, I only looked further because I knew there was meant to be a mention of the missed court appearance.

Still, though, OP should be ashamed that he either didn't catch that, or worse, he purposely tried to mislead people.

I motion that the title be changed to, "Man with joker face paint arrested for previous warrant."

Sort of off-topic: I remember reading through my university newspaper, and there were a fair amount of people for previous warrants on campus. It was kinda odd to see, about 2-4 people a month were arrested on previous warrants.

He looks nothing like the joker.

Anyway, excellent examples of sensationalist journalism.
I agree with both.

1. Joker has green hair and white makeup. Not red hair and black streaks. Wtf.

2. He got arrested for an outstanding warrant, not his appearance.

Op, will you freaking read the article before rushing to post it?

The only thing I?m really angry about here is that the media still apparently don?t seem to know what the Joker looks like. The Joker has never appeared with red hair in any Batman comic book, film, or TV series.

Though, yeah, not why he was arrested, one can't help but feel he'd have gotten less reaction if he'd gone to a cinema dressed as Magneto.

Oh the sensationalism!

It turns out the story is not what you are making it. They guy already had a warrant for his arrest. This isn't some shooting hysteria.

Well, it got people to click the topic, huh?

He had a warrant out for his arrest; the fact that he was dressed as "The Joker" (Although not really, he looked more like an emo Ronald McDonald) is inconsequential.

He could've been dressed as Benjamin Franklin and his ass would still be arrested.

And the news title would have been something along the lines of "Police disrespects the founding fathers by arresting a man dressed like them"
