That's what I've been told by a good friend of mine. I finished Chapter 1 the other night and that pretty much set the stage/gave me a good idea of what I was getting myself into.
Some of those choices gave me very little time to think things over. I have never had a game do that before.
Each episode gets worse and worse (in the best possible way). I wasn't too bugged by the first, the second was a little freaky. The third one, all I can say is that I almost lost it. the fourth I had a few tears, and the final episode... I never felt that way since I finished Of Mice and Men for the first time.
I played all the way through To The Moon a few days ago. That game, man. That game...
I can't remember the last time any piece of media got to me like that.
Visual Novels tend to get me. I teared up a bit by the end of playing Emi's route in Katawa Shoujo, teared up playing Analogue: A Hate Story, and teared up in all the routes I've played in Tsukihime so far (Arcueid, Akiha, Hisui). Labrys' story in Persona 4 Arena surprisingly had me tearing up quite a bit as well.
Damn. Looking forward to more feels with Fate/Stay Night and To the Moon.
Goodness, so many.
Katawa Shoujo, as previously mentioned. [sub]Riiiiiiin...[/sub]
Mother 3, which has the most heartbreaking final boss ever in the history of everything.
Lost Odyssey, as also previously mentioned. There's a lot of that game that makes me misty-eyed. The hero meeting his daughter for the first time since she was a little girl, having her die immediately afterwards. The hopeless Casanova wannabe falling in love with the queen. And then
the sacrifice at the end of the game.
It's a very emotional game for me, and the Thousand Years of Memories are only a small example of the whole.
in your experience of gaming, have you ever found yourself tearing up at a particular moment, whether due to happiness, sadness, or outright sheer epicness?
my example, Ace combat 5, final mission, the yukes (enemies for most of the game) and the oseans fly alongside each other, and sing this:
The ending of Crisis Core really got to me. I'd never played Final Fantasy 7 before that, so I didn't know what was coming. I made the unfortunate mistake of getting emotionally attached to Zack. You can probably all guess how it went from there ;_;
More like Episode 548 (or 448, rewatching since I caught up and I'm halfway through CP9, Franky vs Fukurou, one of my favourite fights in the whole series!), I clicked that wondering what was so special about that episode, good thing I knew about
Ace's death at the hand of Akainu
. It is a genuinely sad moment and the way it's executed and built up to did have me shedding a few manly tears.
I really do dislike Akainu a lot, though I do think that at that point in the story had Sengoku not held Garp down he most certainly would have killed Akainu. We all know that Garp is somewhere around Whitebeard in terms of raw power after all. That said Shanks stopped him single-handedly.
Also, Laboon and Brook makes me sad.
Edit: Forgot to include something on-topic, Final Fantasy X had numerous moments that had me teary eyed, especially the ending. Resistance 3 had me emotional and really drew me into the world, though I didn't cry at any point I genuinely empathized with Capelli throughout. The end of DMC 3 made me fairly sad, which may or may not be odd, I found the situation sad given that Virgil isn't really a villain so much as an antagonistic anti-hero.
InFamous 2's bad karma ending had me despondent
Zeke! Why do the good die so young? D:
. Had the other ending spoiled on here by some prick that didn't know spoiler tagging who shall remain anonymous, so that ending was lost on me.
Um... as I said above a lot of moments in One Piece have got to me, the climax of Nami's backstory, Brook and the Rumbar Pirates, the spoilered part Tizzy mentioned,
Whitebeards eventual death.
,
Bon Kurei/Benthams sacrifice to save the others at the end of their escape
are just a few of the moments that really tugged at my heart strings.
I was saddened by
Jiraiya's death after his fight with the six paths of Pain
, just such a great character and if he'd only know more he would have easily succeeded.

actually, one of my friends who played that game later joined the royal air force. i wish him well, just goes to show the power of suggestion in games.
You know, I can't be arsed to list them all, so I'm just going to say this: if a game/movie doesn't get me misty-eyed at least once, I consider it a failure. Most pieces of entertainment pass this test.
I am a rather emotional person. I get attached to the characters in my games, so I've probably teared up a bit more (and at many places) than others have. Here we go:
Final Fantasy VII. It's been years since that game came out, and I still get a bit sad when Aeris dies. No, it's not a spoiler anymore. I have her theme music on my i-pod and when it plays, I still feel a little hole in my chest.
InFamous 2's Good ending. Sweet mother O'Rielly...
Spec Ops: The Line. So many moments. Of course, there's the BIG one, which still makes me so sick (literally) in my stomach that I've skipped the scene on other playthroughs, but there are other ones. When you are on your way to that mob and listening to the radio chatter. And then when you finally get there. Oh man...
Mass Effect 3. That scene in the hospital half way through the game (assuming you have the characters). I didn't cry. I didn't cry. I didn't--waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
Suikoden. When I was younger, the scene with Gereminio or however you spell his name. Not cool.
Dead Space. When you watch the entire video. Good bye hope, hello emptiness.
InFamous. When you are forced to choose who to save--the doctors or the other party.
Dragon Age 2. Taking certain characters into the Deep Roads without taking a certain other character. Also, when Merrill finally understands what she's done. I like her, okay? I know it was her own stupid fault, but it breaks my heart when she finally understands.
Those are all I can think of off the top of my head, but I know there are more. As a side note, the ending to Halo 4 would have made me tear up a bit...if I didn't already know that Halo 5 and Halo 6 were going to fix what happened.
Oh boy, without spoilers I'd have to say, the ending for infamous 2, both the good and bad karma endings are pretty fuckin' dramatic, though I think the good one is even more heart wrenching because of how good a guy Cole is.
And, anybody that has finished The Walking Dead lately will know what I mean when I say, 'that moment'. Oh yeah, you know the one, Jesus...just...fuck that's so god damn sad.

Garp and Gol D Rodger almost killed each other constantly, I wish they would show more of Garp to be honest, his true strength hasn't been seen. I also nearly shed manly tears when Garp found Luffy and Aces foster parent (A mountain bandit) who is devastated and angry at Garp for not being able to prevent Aces Death, believing he chose his job over his family (They are not related, but they were just as close)
I also nearly shed manly tears while playing Lost Odyssey...anyone who has ever played the game will know how that game hits you in the feels...
Good on the fix could be a devastating spoiler otherwise or I wouldn't have pointed it out.
Yeah exactly, and it's heavily implied that Garp usually won and Roger got lucky, and we have seen Garp fight the first division commander Marco, a man on par with the admirals in strength, and the result was Garp striking him down with one blow. I really would love to see Garp more, he's hilarious for a start and monstrously powerful, but I can't help but feel he's gonna get killed off at some point, perhaps by the Kidd pirates or something, who I think are gonna become major antagonists. I also fear that Shanks could end up dying whenever they actually show him having a real fight, which would be a shame, I mean who doesn't wanna see Shanks kick some ass?
Edit: Done derped my spoiler tag, fixed now, hope I didn't spoil anyone.
I was watching Clannad (animated series, not the movie or visual novels). It got me hooked on the light hearted slice of life drama with slapstick humour on the side.
Then at a point in the 2nd season something happened. I shed manly tears.
Wait, no... I fell apart and cried myself to sleep (no joke). It didn't happen once, or twice... but 3 times.
That was the most emotionally draining weekend I've had in a long time.
Brilliant series by the way. I was a bit put off at first due to the aesthetics and the seemingly childish depictions of love and relationships, but it really comes into it's own.
Game Games: (No particular order. I'll try to be vague but expect spoilers in reason.)
Persona 3 Portable (I'm just going to include anything that contributed to the emotion here and round up to THE WHOLE GAME)
Bastion (The End)
Megaman X (Zero vs Vile: Round 2)
Valkyria Chronicles (Rosie's Song)
Folklore (The End)
Dragon Age: Origins (The End. Though the reason varies on playthrough and there is usually more throughout.)
Dragon Age 2 (Anders and Fenris. Mage ending. Merril's quest.)
Mass Effect 1 (To long ago to remember. But I promise it happened.)
Mass Effect 2 (Knowing it was only my stupid negligence that prevented one man from returning from the suicide mission. Even if I didn't like him.)
Mass Effect 3
Uniting the Qaurian and the Geth, Tali seeing her home, Legion realizing his individuality and true sentience, Legion's Death, Thane's death, Every god damn time I think about Legion, Mordin's death, Promising Liara I wouldn't die again, Liara holding the plaque in the extended cut, Every other Liara scene!, All 4 extended cut endings (Max points).
Fallout 3 (Not the ending. So guess.)
Bioshock 2 (Seeing the good ending after the bad ending.)
Final Fantasy VII (The End)
Final Fantasy IX (The End)
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (The end)
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Visual Novels:
Fate: Stay Night (Every Route)
Katawa Shoujo (All but Shizune, but only because I haven't finished her route)
Saya no Uta (Saya route)
Crescendo (Secret Route)
I generally don't play a Visual Novel if it doesn't have the feels.
That can't be every game, I'm missing a bunch. I'll spare you every other medium and the other half the games since no one has all day for this post (Including me).
