I'm just wondering: What is your opinion on Mann VS Machine? Me, I find it's fun to blow my way through armies of robots with my rocket launcher, or rip them to shreds with my mini-gun.

I'd have a reaction if I could actually get into a bloody game.
After wasting an hour of my life I deleted that crap from my PC.

Use the server browser.

OT: The fact that there aren't any dedicated Mann Up servers outside the US really rustles my Jimmies.

Oh trust me, I tried. I could find a total of 3 games, all of which were full.

My clan has three private MvM servers up, so I've played a ton of it. It's a lot of fun. I actually enjoy being a Kritz Medic most in it. I was mainly ubering a Beggar's Bazooka solly for one game, and the damage output was ridiculous. He upgraded his weapon so that it would should about 10 rockets at once, and I kept on Kritz ubering him and refilling his ammo with the shared ammo/clip refill power. He was doing about 3,000 damage every time he fired.

That and the fact that I can overheal a Heavy to 700 HP.

Yeah, I love it.

The things I don't love are the issues the update has caused for normal play. Our normal servers have had problems with failures to connect and sudden kicks to everyone playing. Issues almost always happen with a major update (Pyromania broke our admin commands for almost a week, so policing the servers was pretty difficult). But the problems we're having since the MvM update are worse than normal.

It's fun, replayable, you never go through the same strategies and power-ups, very centered around teamwork, mildly frustrating compared to its difficulty.

I don't like the limitation and weaknesses of certain classes and weapons, and the inability to remove powerups. Unless you have class X, you aren't going to win; if class Y doesn't have weapon A equipped, they're pissing in the wind; if class Z thinks about buying upgrade A, they're wasting money. Buy health on kill, more ammo, bigger clip sizes, more damage, faster reload on ONLY your primary weapon. Never upgrade your melee unless you're a Scout using the Sandman or Wrap Assassin. Demoknights, fat Scout, Sniper in general, Axetinguisher Pyro, Gunslinger Engineer aren't worth shit and will die quickly. If you start the game as this class, you have to stay that class, because you can't remove your $1500 worth of upgrades for the wave is too beefy for a Pyro.

But yeah. Lots of fun. Thought I bet you in a few weeks, I'll be back to almost 24/7 CP maps.

I hate that there are a lot of robots as well as difficulties only locked to the Mann Up Mode. Which is really frustrating to me seeing how I don't have enough money to keep funding for more difficult challenges compared to the just 2 easy versions of the maps. But it can be enjoyable when with friends. I know I've been trying out all kinds of builds, just to see how certain weapons work.

It's kinda difficult enough finding a server that isn't full, it's even more difficult to find a server that doesn't lag for me. When I do find a good server though, Mann VS Machine is fun as hell. There's just something fun about burning down a horde of scout-bots.

I must say though, the super robots are pretty nasty. The Giant Heavy in particular is an absolute terror. Especially when he has medics with him.

I *think* that the Mann Up mode might be slightly overtuned. Slightly.

Largely it's the snipers essentially campspawning you, or the super scouts who decide to ignore Natascha's slow effect and just romp to base with the bomb.

Loves it! It's so much fun! I just wish it were easier to actually get in the game (What with the Password Protected Servers and the 30 Minute waits in the actual place to wait)

Been playing it almost constantly since release. That should be saying something for how much fun im having.

That and this mode has renewed my hatred for spies. Theyre as sneaky as player spies yet agressive as a rabid honey badger and competent enough in regular combat to actually kill you.

Password protected servers are private. I know we bought two additional servers just for MvM so our clan members (and donators) can all play together, and they are password protected.

Mann Up is a different story, though. Those are only Valve. I didn't go through back-to-back Mann Ups tonight with friends and won both. Twas nice.

Either I suck or all my random teammates suck because I never made it passed the first 2 rounds but then again I only played it once for about an hour

Have either a Spy or Scout (or Sniper, but Snipers are too weak in MvM for me to recommend having them) take out the Snipers. Those two classes are the best for picking up the money anyway (though I'd say Spies are more useful overall for their ability to sap enemies and easily take out Medics).

Another useful way to take out snipers is to have a teleporter set up that leads behind where they spawn or camp. Enemies don't shoot teles, so you don't have to worry about it being taken down unless it is also right next to a sentry (which is shouldn't be). I just finished a Mann Up game tonight on Decoy in which our Engie did exactly that. Very useful.

So I got screwed tonight.
I completed my third Mann Up game with five friends...only the game didn't acknowledge it. Apparently, the item server conked out during our game. This made it so we received no loot, got no credit for completing the map/mode, and our MvM badges didn't update. On the plus side, it didn't use up our tickets either.

This is by far the buggiest update I've ever witnessed for TF2.

Oh, you mean THIS game?

(I don't even play TF2, so I don't have anything to offer for this. I may start playing now, since fighting robots seems pretty damn fun)

So what exactly are the different offered game modes?

Mann Vs. Machine is the first "Player vs. waves of computers" in TF2, all the other gamemodes are "Team RED vs. Team BLU" with differen't goals (Capture the flag, King of the Hill, Capture points, Payload). It's pretty fun, also that video you have is only one game with a wierd glitch im pretty sure 99% of the TF2 community haven't experience before, MvM has only been out for 5 days.

the waiting system is so stupid, me and my friend can never get in a match, when we do it either disconnect us or says its an older version something like that, normally we have to wait 30 minutes, then when it gets to 1 it changes to 15 etc.
