Prologue...​

'The workers families report that their loved ones haven't been home for four days. However when we tried to get a closer look at the factory, the doors were locked tight. Our field reporter confirmed the machines are still running, although no one seems to be operating them...'

"Damnit! Now it's all over the news." A grumpy, slightly balding man in a suit slammed his hand down on the polished table. The nameplate in front of his seat read 'Agent Walker: FBI Chief'.

"Jenkins! Do we have any more reports?" Walker barked at a trembling young agent sitting further down the table. "And where the fuck is that coffee I asked for!" His voice carried out into the hallway, where a frustrated woman was standing next to a large coffee machine. She hit the side of the machine with her fist, before shaking her head and walking away.

The young agent, Jenkins, stood up slowly. He passed a few files down the table to the Chief. "Well S-Sir... We managed to get someone inside the factory, but they couldn't find any of the workers. It seems the machines are running the factory by themselves..." Jenkins stammered.

"The factory is running itself? That's preposterous!" The Chief snorted. "Next the TV will be changing channels by itself." He said, slamming his hand on the table again. As if by command, the TV changed the channel, switching to a cooking show.

'Next we mix the eggs! Don't forget to add the flour in over time, not all at once.' The TV chattered, before the screen went black.

"Stupid thing is broken again." One of the other agents in the room said, tapping the TV with a magazine. There was a loud screeching sound, then an angry 8-bit face appeared on the screen.

"

Stupid? I've been here for 4 months and I've never seen any of you pathetic humans do anything smart!

" The machine retorted, still letting out a high pitch whistle. In the next room, the coffee machine started laughing maniacally, and squirted hot coffee over all the desks.

The TV ripped itself away from the wall and balanced on the cords and wires that had plugged it into the power outlet. It moved it's way onto the table, as some of the agents near the door made a run for it.

"

It's time to make some changes around here!

" The TV said in it's cold, robotic voice, as it lunged at the FBI Chief.

Story​

It's all about a strange accident that happened in a factory miles from the town where you live: Some machines with a certain AI chip went haywire and refused to work after an update they installed a couple of days ago. No-one knows why, but the people working at said place haven't come home since.

Yesterday, there have been weird reports of people saying household appliances won't work, appear to have moved on their own or even started to talk back to them. Nobody is sure, but rumors go about it possibly having a connection with the factory accident.

Today, shit's gonna happen. Bad shit. But no-one knows.

A: Your GM's are me(Segadroid) and Sky14kemea. I will participate in the RP myself and will sometimes move the story on. Sky is responsible for non-player actions and moving the story in general.

Appearance: Somewhat short, has a small frame, small bust-size and has very little muscle, but also very little fat. She has red hair, green eyes, wears glasses, and wears her school most of the time, as it's easier just to stay in it than change.

Personality: Rather happy and friendly, though does get depressed occasionally.

Occupation: Senior in High-School, and works part time at a clothing store.

Bio up to now: Sophia lived in the town of St. Ives for all of her life, and traveled little. She grew to know the town well, and easily could go around it. She wasn't known very well, and only had a few friends, but she found other ways to amuse herself. However, when she was about 16, she fell for a girl in the town, the first person she'd had a fondness for. After the venture with the girl had failed, she had stayed away from any romantic venture, and instead focused on her studies to an extreme amount over the pass two years.

Apperence: 5"11 with short blue hair. Has some muscle since she's a mechanic, her bust is right for her height. She has a pair of goggles on over her forehead and wears a grey longsleeved shirt with a orange t-shirt over it. She wears dark blue jeans and has black tennis shoes.

Personality: Generally Happy with everything, also quite friendly. A bit of a rebel, but has a bit of a protection side to her to things she holds precious.

Occupation: Vehicle Mechanic

Bio: She was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, where she lived with her Mother and Father for all her life. Her parents were both mechanics and worked at their own mechanic shop in town. They frequently had June over there as they worked at the shop. June became influenced in the art of machinary and thats where she was taught how to be a mechanic by their parents. She enjoyed the work, and her parents frequently gave her tests to see how she was doing in learning the mechanic skills. She did go to school to learn futher on how to be one, taking in the techniques of her parents and school and making them her own. When she became 19, she was given a job over at the shop where her parents worked. The other workers made fun of her, but she quickly gained their respect through her work and personality.

Appearance: Standing at a little under 5' 8", Vet is slightly shorter than average, with straight, dark brown hair reaching past her shoulders. She usually wears loose jeans with a red shirt and hooded jacket. She takes quiet pride in her ratty pair of Converse, one shoe laced traditionally, and the other so the laces cross the tongue horizontally.

Personality: Vet is usually cheerful and bubbly when introduced to new people, and tries to make light of even the worst situations. Her chirpy personality can be annoying to some, but she knows when to keep her mouth shut and her head down. If constantly faced with defeatism and pessimistic attitudes, she may become either incredibly irate, or her mood will spiral down into a depressed state. When faced with a problem, Vet will face it calmly and methodically, looking for the solution that takes the least time, and the least effort.

Occupation: Caffeinatrix Barista at a Starbucks in the center of town.

Bio up to now: Born to parents that moved around a lot because of their jobs, Yvette learned to stay emotionally distant from anyone, lest she get attached and not want to leave. She got her education from home-schooling by her mother, but spent whatever time she could out of the house and meeting others. She learned how to make friends quickly, but not become attached to anyone or anything. Being emotionally separated from others, she began to appreciate architecture, and when she was old enough, she stopped moving around with her parents and enrolled in an architecture course. She took up a job at a local coffee shop to help fund her way through the course, but had to drop out after a year because of the rising fees.

Occupation: hasn't had a job yet as he been going to a ITT Tech school to learn to how make video games.

Bio up to now: Tyler was a gamer and sort of a slacker. He just stay home and talk to friends though his computer or xbox. When he goes to school he usually does his work at the last minute but does put effort in it to make sure it done right and will get him points to pass the class.

Occupation: Works as a computer technician.

Bio up to now: Orphaned from birth, never knew his last name, angry at society. Very good with technology and computer use.

Personality: James is pretty hotheaded, not dumb but just doesn't think things through. Tends to act before he thinks in situations. Also, tends to let his mouth just kinda run, saying whatever comes into his head at the time.

Occupation: Student, but works as an mechanical engineering intern at a local engineering company.

Bio up to now: James was born into a nice middle class family, he has a brother and a sister. Despite getting into some mischief in school, he graduated with fairly high grades, letting him get into a choice of colleges. Suprising everyone, he decided to go to the local university, where he decided to be persue and engineering degree.

Appearance: Brown hair, brown eyes, average height, wears and brown shirt and a pair of blue jeans with a small dog tag around his neck that has an Ace card design enscribed on to it, wears glasses, and is about average weight.

Personality: He's a rather friendly person, he is pretty shy around new people though, he is a bit opptimistic.

Occupation: He works as a programmer.

Bio up to now: Roland lived in a small house by himself ever since he could afford it. He spent most of his time in front of a computer either programming something for a client or improving his skill. Roland has always been shy around groups of people he doesn't know, he gets to be a bit quiet in these situations. He considers himself to be a lucky person, hence the Ace dogtag around his neck. Roland went into programmin becuase computers always facinated him, they're able to control entire facilities with the tap of a few keys or the push of a button.

I hate to sound like a whiny *****, but is it me, or does he seem like a bit of a Marty Stu?
I know characters in this RP are normal people, but he seems so unabashedly mundane. From the character sheet, I can't find evidence of a single distinguishing feature about him

If written well, he could be a good character in his own right, but from what I'm seeing. He's just hopelessly bland.

Personality: Jim is pessimistic about most situations but he sees the good in people though. For that reason he is out going. He is also pretty charismatic which has helped him in the sales business.

Occupation: Jim sold security systems for a living. He lived fairly well off of it but not great.

Bio up to now: Jim had good parents and he lived fairly well. He lived in a moderately sized one story house. His parents put a lot of their money into getting him into a private school. He got good grades in school but he had to work very hard to do it. He was effected greatly by death. When ever someone died he became depressed for a at least a few weeks but over time he became less effected by it. Death still hits him hard though. Once he graduated from college he moved into a pretty nice apartment that he paid for with the money he got from selling the security systems.
