Oooooooooooh great. Another Batman related film :p

I mean really why is Harley Quinn (the charcater in general, not just the Suicide Squad movie) so popular?

Is she really the no.1 waifu of all the Female DC charcaters?

Huh...from the ads, you'd think Suicide Squad was a solo Margot Robbie movie.

More or less, yeah. I mean, who else is there? Plenty of names, but nobody so big.

Wut?

I mean, I guess she was alright in Suicide Squad but I'm not sure how you get an entire movie out of a character like that.

There are those who suggest it would be a Gotham Girls movie, with the Gotham Girls being Harley, Poison Ivy, and Catwoman.

OT: Eh. I liked the portrayal of her in SS, but holy shit her motivations and dialogue were pathetic.

Maybe with some "Harley's Day Out" thrown in there. That's a good Harley focused episode as well
If they do Harley's Holiday, I want to see Scarecrow get his cameo.

I just realize that its those same fanboys that watched Batman The Animated Series, made Harley their Waifu, grew up to work for DC Comics, are the reason why recent designs of Harley is that of a street whore.

DC has always treated their women like street walkers. Hell, the Animated Series comics has Bruce banging Barbara and fathering her child while she's engaged to Dick.
The 90s grunge metal OH THE EDGE mentality really fucked with comics and now they don't know any better than to simply keep making everything and everyone edgy and in-yo-face!

I prefer 90s Grunge Metal Edge than now. I mean look at Dragon Ball Super right now, its complete shit compared to DBZ because they toned down everything, the fights are not as brutal, there is barely any blood and battle damage, and everything is all too cutsey and colorful. Heck even the fan-service is increadibly dull, Bulma looks so boring and average compared to other Anime girls.

I mean something is wrong when One Piece still has more brutal and bloody and viceral than Dragon Ball Super.

And don't get me started on Powerpuff Girls.

But its a perpetual 'the edge' machine, because the edge is always one step away. No matter how far you go, you never reach it. That's why South Park and Family Guy are struggling. Used to be fart jokes and Star Wars cutaway gags. Now its literal rape jokes and dogs fucking teenagers.

If you keep wanting more change, more drastic costumes and character arcs and more absurdist story telling, you can't really complain that Harely now looks like a slutty cheerleader. That's her new edge. Fishnet stockings, booty shorts, bubblegum makeup and doggy-style handles. Gone are the days of a bumbling ditsy Harlequin with a giant mallet and BANG! pistol. Because of edge. I wouldn't put it past the movie makers to have Harley's new costume be a g-string, clown pasties and a completely shaved head with the word 'Quirky' tattooed on her chest.

Dragon Ball Z did it by having Broly killed while he was still a baby.

And that was done well because the King Vegeta had a good reason considering what happens in the end anyway.

Also South Park was already edgy by its mere conception. One episode was about the Statue of the Virgin Mary somehow bleeding period blood from the nether regions.

Also the South Park Movie.

Considering the people who ruined Harley Quinn are the same people who have ruined the joker over the years, I highly doubt fans of btas who already know that Hamill's joker is objectively the greatest interpretation of the character are the same people.
I don't know, people still invoke the performance of Heath Ledger's Joker as the "GREATEST ACTING PERFORMANCE IN EXISTANCE!!!"

I swear people who put that guy's performance on a pedestal as if they have never seen a movie or acting before in their lives.

Not really sure where they can go with her character without doing a massive 180 on how Harley was portrayed in Suicide Squad. The original character since the cartoons developed around the abusive relationship she had with the Joker, and how one-sided most of their relationship was. The Suicide Squad movie just portrays them as two madly in love psychopaths.

I for one second (or third, or fourth, I really lost count at this point) that the Harley Quinn movie should be an origin story for a Gotham City Sirens series. Catwoman, Harley and Poison Ivy do have an interesting dynamic that both involves a healthy (or healthier) relationship growing out of what are very damaged people along with enough humor and action to please general audiences. Kind of a "Guardians of the Galaxy meets Charlie's Angels" type of flick. I would pay good money to watch them argue about whose ex was the worst; Batman (Catwoman), the Joker (Harley) or Floronic Man (Ivy). Granted it is hard to top the Joker but Floronic Man literally used Ivy as a guinea pig and Batman routinely tries to throw Selina in jail...

But the South Park movie is literally a raunchy cartoon movie about people who take raunchy cartoon movies too seriously. From the kids, to MAC, La Resistance, Canada. Its all making fun of itself.

I just think with something like Batman is shouldn't be a parody of itself.
