Oh, for some reason I thought this thread was going to be about doing impressions of Mario. Like:
No accounting for taste, but really.... 3D World and Odyssey are harder than Galaxy?Yoshi178 said:the only 3D Mario game Galaxy was better than is 3D Land on the 3DS.
Literally every single other 3D Mario game is better than that Galaxy trash. Galaxy was way too linear and way too easy.
To 100% they were definitely way harder.Casual Shinji said:No accounting for taste, but really.... 3D World and Odyssey are harder than Galaxy?Yoshi178 said:the only 3D Mario game Galaxy was better than is 3D Land on the 3DS.

I'm not talking about 100%, I'm talking about the base game experience from start to end credits. I'm sure Assassin's Creed is super hard too if you intend to collect every little thing in it.Yoshi178 said:To 100% they were definitely way harder.
and both 3D World and Odyssey were way more interesting than Galaxy.
The whole gimmick of this game is borrowing enemies for getting past the obstacle of the moment. So there's no real escalation in trails, just a new enemy to posses in order to proceed past a hurdle specifically designed around that enemy's one skill.ProfMcStevie said:1 thing I will ask to gauge reactions and maybe see how other people define them: would you say the game as you go further in builds upon what you have or adds? Does it really push your abilities up with each new progressive task or does it just add new ones so you have a handful of base level skills to use? Personally I'm a building person, I like Megaman Zero and ZX for that as games that you don't change all too much and the obstacles ramp up, I'm not often a fan of adding but a handful of little abilities to use can also have its charms.
Are you serious? The ability I've seen so many using isn't really even used in the games level design? Oh man I can't stand left behind mechanics, this presumably explains why everyone has found it so damn easy thus far if they give you a great ability they never designed for so all the jumps and challenges are made easier.Casual Shinji said:The whole gimmick of this game is borrowing enemies for getting past the obstacle of the moment. The strange thing is that Mario has the ability to throw his hat and use it as a jumping-off point to reach further distances, which actually requires a bit of skill, but this NEVER gets utilzed in any of the levels.
Yeah, but every enemy dies in one hit anyway, and the spin attack functions as both an area attack and force field. They really needed some enemies that could counter some of that shit. Like if you'd throw your hat they'd knock it back toward you requiring a well timed button press to counter it back to them. Or maybe an enemy where you need to throw your hat at them and then hold it to spin them dizzy, and only then can you attack/possess them.Fischgopf said:Regarding the Hat throwing attack though, I do thibnk it should be noted that Mario is largely defenseless without the Hat and that it at times can take "long" to return to the player, so if miss on your first throw you might be kinda screwed for a second.
It was divisive but I liked it a lot as well. Maybe it was the ocd in me but something about cleaning all the dirt off everything was really satisfying. It added a cool twist to the normal gameplay and his waterpack made for some of the most innovative platforming in the series.Yoshi178 said:Super Mario Sunshine is still better and best Mario Game.
