I pre-ordered it so that I could get the Taxidermist DLC for free as well.PureAussieGamer said:i am so jealous of you. I want this game.
I was disappointed that they didn't do that. It was the first thing I checked after beating it.marter said:I probably would have given it an 8/10 if the hidden trophies became visible after completion though.
It is a shame. All it does is make people go onto the internet to find out how to unlock them.Hiphophippo said:I was disappointed that they didn't do that. Yeah, after the beginning, nearly every scene brings up the heartbeat of the player.Pingieking said:Heavy Rain started a little slow, but that slow start is actually good because then the emotional impacts are much stronger later on. Once the action starts to get going it gets quite intense.
I'm only about 75% through, and I thought that Norman Jayden's chapters were incredibly intense. The Mad Jack and club scenes were crazy, and I'm not great at QTEs so Jayden always had one foot in his grave. Ethan's chapters were absolutely nerve wracking. After he axed his own finger I had to put the controller down and walk away for a bit and just let the entire thing sink in. I've killed plenty of digital people in my day, but I've never had such a hard time pulling the trigger on a drug dealing scumbag with adorable daughters.
Replayability is a 7/10 in my opinion. I'm going to go back to this after God of War 3 and try to platinum Heavy Rain.
That isn't the experience I have had. Some do agree with your point, that they way QTE's are implemented will change their opinion on them, but there are many people who hate them period, and wish them to be banished from games completely.Darth Rahu said:The only problem I have with your review is what you said about Quick-Time Events. Quick-Time Events in of themselves are not controversial, how they are implemented in certain games are. In the case of Heavy Rain, they are perfectly administered.
The people who hate them probably played some poorly implemented QTE title's like Clive Barker's Jericho or the first Uncharted. Eh, they'll either come around or miss out, more for us.marter said:That isn't the experience I have had.
