no apologies needed, i was quite vague. but if your not busy just look it up on you tube. i mean there are some news clips and whatnot. and it started with bush apparently like he signed something pertaining to martial law and not enforcing it, but supposedly if watched correctly obama would be the one enforcing it, which makes sense to me because hes gunna be worried about homeland security, and i mean martial law isnt technically a bad thing.

it dosnt mean the army is going to come here guns ablaze

think of it this way, wed be well protected.
"Those who would sacrifice their liberty for some saftey deserve neither liberty nor saftey."
Well said, but not well spelt.

Also the full quote would be:

Benjamin Franklin said:
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

You would be well protected against yourselves, not against foreign threats since the military are watching the population and not the other countries.

Iv been seeing alot about how America is going to put martial law into effect because of rising threat to homeland.

im not too worried myself, being that in a few weeks ill be in the ARMY. but for those who are not. I'm a bit concerned.

what do you think?

This does not need to get heated, it is purely a discussion, not a debate.

also people not of American citizenship id like to know how you feel or your thoughts on it.

Edit* for those who do not know what Martial Law is: "the body of law imposed by the military over civilian affairs (usually in time of war or civil crisis); overrides civil law "
Where on earth did you get that information from!? There's no way that Obama would call a state of emergency unless there was a true reason such as a serious attack or war.

Anyway, the constitution has some pretty serious requirement for the implementation of Martial law. It would generally have to be approved by Congress, a president alone would struggle to have it implemented.

YOUTUBE???
EDIT: I have now watched that film.
I can now confirm how ridiculous what you are saying is. Aside from the stupidity of some of the things that the dubbed voice in the video says are happening or will happen, it says that all this crap is going to happen in the next month. AND IT WAS POSTED NEARLY A YEAR AGO.
Try not to take everything you see or hear on the internet as true.

the ending of that video has a whole thing on religion, ignore that and just concentrate on what it has to say originally

Yea sure, suspension of Habeas Corpus is a fantastic state for a country to be in! I mean, it's not like we need protection from our own governments is it? Governments never abuse power, don't already breach the constitution even with the safeguards and rules already in place.

I'm sure they have a fantastic reason to remove all rights of their citizens. I mean the world is FAR more dangerous than it was during the Second World War, or the Cold War and the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Wow, you get worked up easily don't you? No, the US is not going to put Martial Law into effect. End of story.

You don't understand how a State of Emergency works either do you? It can be declared for just one state, or even just one city. In this case, it is declared solely in D.C. because of the expected crowds.

Don't try to play it off now. You brought it up specifically as if it was a precursor to martial law. Are you just trying to get people all worked up on the subject?

Hey I've only watched the first of these videos, the one about the plastic coffins and telling us all to convert to Christianity. The only thing in it that had any grounding at all was the plastic coffins, they had some video footage to back that up, while the death list idea seemed to be just plucked out of the air so I give that no credence at all.
The plastic coffins could very well be true, as I understand it FEMA handles any emergencies or disasters that occur within the states. Disasters often claim lives in which case having a large number of readily available and easily transportable coffins is good planning. FEMA often gets a lot of stick for not being prepared, it's nice to see that they're trying.
