Superman had Supergirl; Batman got him some Batgirl; Hulk for some reason ended up having Shehulk; Black Panther got breats; and thinking about it I couldn't think of anyone who did it the other way around so my question is:

Has there been any hero/villain that went from female(original) to male or got herself a male counterpart?

*Edit* Some people didnt get my question right. I know that there is Spidergirl and what not , however, I am looking for something like this: Wonderwoman died /retired and married / whatever and now her son Wonderboy takes her place and fights against evil . So a female character getting replaced by a male one, getting a male sidekick getting a male counterpart.

I cannot recall a female version of Iron man or Spiderman, although they do have love interests there is no female superhero version.

I don't think Captain America had a female version or love interest, although there was a Captain Britain, but he was a guy, so... draw your own conclusions as to what went on there.

EDIT: Ok, so there are apparently more female versions of Spiderman than there are X-men, and Pepper Potts wore something similar to the Iron Man suit for a while, and Union Jack is closer to being Captain America's British counterpart than Captain Britain. Wow, I think that's all my inconsistancies in this post ironed out. Thanks, I think.

Union Jack was the British guy, his real name was Montgomery Fawlsworth.

Spidergirl! Daughter of Spiderman. Fun little what if story, and by "what if" I mean around 300 issues. Brilliant series, loved every minute of it.

Wolverine has X-23, that kind of works, and Magneto and Quicksilver, his daughter. I'm fairly certain that there is a female version of Deadpool in the alternate universes, as well.

Iron Man has a female counterpart in Rescue, which is Pepper Potts in an Iron Man armor.

Vic Savage who was The Question was replaced by Renee Montoya when he died. I don't read comics, but I loved him in Justice League: Unlimited I looked up info about him.

I don't read comics, I just remembered the name. But you're right, it is Scarlet Witch. Also, Captain Marvel has Ms. Marvel as a female counterpart, both versions I believe.

Dane of Elysium's Wonder Man is a male counterpart to Wonder Woman. He's pretty tough, and even managed to beat Hercules in a fight.

The only one I can think of is Pepper Pott alias "Recuse". During the "Dark Reign" storyline in Marvel (Spiderman arch nemesis Norman Osborn became the leader of Shield well he replace Shiled with his own evil group Hammer) Tony Stark aka Iron Man was on the run. Before he run away he had given informations to some people which one of them is Pepper.
Anyway she found out he had given her a female Iron Man armour for her to use since she also got a magnetic heart like in the live action him (happen before Dark Reign). Since she wanted no weapons on the armour but it had enhance speed she took the name Recuse since that what she wanted to do with the armour.
I guess this sort of count but it was temporary.

See: a bunch of these women superheroes were created because they wanted to protect their own IP. Make a superhero (a man... natch) and then you have people thinking of the female version. Make a spider-man: you also have to make spider woman, because someoen else will. superman gets super girl, etc. Stan Lee made She-Hulk as a counter to people trying to hone in on the Hulk's good name.

Anyway: I think the reason you don't see the reversal is because a) male heroes outnumber the women and b) it is extremely rare for anything that is feminine to become acceptable for men.
