I personally think Marvel is better than DC in every respect, DC have no good superheroes (apart from Batman obviously) and only a handful of decent super villains, The Joker, The Riddler.. etc...

What are your opinions?? and who's your favorite hero/villain?

The best of DC heroes are better than the best of Marvell but as a whole Marvell is better than DC.

DC all the way baby. I've never really seen any books from Marvel that have interested me. They don't seem to have the same critical acclaim in terms of popular stories as DC does either.

Also, I most definitely disagree that DC's heroes are lacking.

I don't mind either one.
I like Marvel, because they've got motherf*ckin' Deapool.

I also like DC, because they've got the Captain Marvel that doesn't suck.

Marvel all the way. Captain America in my opinion is one of the best super heroes. DC is fine but I like how Marvel feels more realistic and believable.

This coulda been better as a poll. Jus' sayin.

I'd say Marvel, they make a lot more interesting characters... honestly, most of the DC ones are totally naff. You'll find plenty more anti-heroes on the Marvel side than the DC side. Too many DC heroes stand for truth, justice and the American way for my liking, which is why Deadpool works- he's just in it for the money and the lulz.

Believable? In superhero comics? I don't think 'realism' and 'believability' should ever enter the equation. =P

Other than Superman, what other heroes could you say that for?

Are we including Vertigo? No? Okay then.

DC has Secret Six, but Marvel has Runaways and Deadpool. Marvel.

Not really a big fan of either; I prefer certain specific characters.
Tony Stark (well, before he became Marvel-Jesus...) is a personal favorite of mine, and probably my favorite super hero of all. On the other hand, there's a lot of characters I really don't care for in the Marvel universe.

Overall, I guess it's who is writing the character that matters most. I don't really do comics.

I enjoy both but I rarely read anything in DC that isn't Batman. I feel DC relies way too much on their continuity and that anyone who picks up a book has prior knowledge to all that has happened in whatever storyline.

I prefer Marvel. I don't hate DC, I mean, Batman and Green Lantern are awesome but The Flash? Aquaman? In marvel they have people with similar powers, but they don't make the mistake of focusing a whole comic series around them. Because they know that nobody really cares THAT much about Quicksilver. I think they may have Namor as a series, but I've never seen him outside of crossovers.

Anyways, I like Marvel better as a whole because of the variety.

I grew up loving Batman: The Animated Series and X-men cartoons so personally I'm a big fan of both. If I had to choose only one I'd side with Marvel because I'm exposed to more batman material than I am x-men.

Favorite villain would be Apocalypse...not because of his character but because I love all the episodes within the cartoon that he was in. Favorite fleshed out villain would be Magneto.

I don't have a favorite superhero. A toss up between Gambit, Wolverine and Batman. I'll say Gambit because I know so little about him and I'm tired of hearing about the back stories of the other two.

Then Marvel.

But DC has (had) Swampthing, John Constantine, has Batman, Superman, Teen Titans (with villain Death Stroke, who IMHO is what Deadpool was just a rip off of) Ambush Bug, Legion of Super Heroes, Flash, Green Lantern, Wonderwoman.

But Spiderman, at his best, was inspirational. More so than corny Captain America. He was, down deep, a good soul.

Us readers are just fortunate to have both companies. And Spawn.

I like both about equally. I'm really enjoying both Rick Remender's run of Unncanny X-Force and Grant Morrison's Batman stuff now, but my favourite comics aree still creator owned series' like The Walking Dead.

But readers do care THAT much about The Flash (using a DC equivalent speedster example). And if there are a lot of people willing to pay money to read about a certain character, why shouldn't there be a book about them?

Okay I didn't mean that they say that, I mean that they all seem to believe the same things. Superman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter... all are pretty much invincible, all are pretty much noble to a fault, GENERALLY... whereas in Marvel you get a lot more variability. Deadpool and Luke Cage are in it for the money. Punisher is in it for revenge. Daredevil and Spider-Man are in it because of traumatic events in their youth. Captain America came into in it because he felt society looked down on him and found something far greater than himself. All of which are infallible, all of which are not entirely invincible (allegedly, I grant you) and all of which have flaws and limitations. I just find Marvel characters a whole lot more three dimensional and relatable than DC characters, and the only three dimensional character I can think of who DC ever came up with was Batman. They just seem to do the 'extra-terrestrial superhero who believes firmly in justice' a lot more than Marvel does, if you get my drift.

I like them both. DC has the best animation studio. Marvel has the best live-action film studio (all my opinion)

As for cast/characters they're all good. X-Men and Avengers on one side. JLA and Teen Titans on the other. I don't care for the Fantastic Four though. I'm also actively looking for the cross-over graphic novels. I've seen one, once. Interesting looking story even though the heroes and heroines under a certain age do nothing but try having sex with each other (I think it was Jubilee and Robin)

Anyway: They should get along and so should you. Infighting is exactly what A.I.M. the Legion of Doom, The Skrull, The Kree, The Brotherhood of Mutants and every lone psycho wants us to do. Galactus doesn't care too much though since he just wants to eat us.

And those four characters don't make up the entirety of DC's characters. Hell, I don't even agree with that completely. I hardly think Wonder Woman (in her current guise at least) is a character who is a paragon of nobility. Nor Green Lantern for that matter (although the Hal Jordan Green Lantern is a dull character regardless)

whereas in Marvel you get a lot more variability.
As do DC. I see no mention of characters such as both Green Arrows, the Cassandra Cain Batgirl, Booster Gold, the Secret Six, Zatanna (and so forth).

the only three dimensional character I can think of who DC ever came up with was Batman.
To put forward a single example, and what I think is the best example of a multi-dimensional character within DC comics, Green Arrow. He has the most personality and character out of anybody in the DCU.

They just seem to do the 'extra-terrestrial superhero who believes firmly in justice' a lot more than Marvel does, if you get my drift.
Whilst this is true, it doesn't mean that this is the only thing that DC does.

I think it was an Entertainment Weekly poll that held the Batman Animated series was among the best cartoon series of all time (within the last month). I have to agree, though I loved the Superman cartoon from the same period was amazing too. The Parasite episode alone was better than many movies these days.
