Nintendo... wait no this is that other stupid geeky fanboy argument. Um going to go for DC. Its pretty much a coin toss though.

Can't decide, both are excellent. I read more Marvel books, but I find the DC one to be of a higher standard usually.

Neither. I don't like how they treat death like a severe case of the common cold. Everyone catches it and they'll be out of commission for a while but, ultimately, they'll be fine.

At this point Wolverine catching pneumonia would have more emotional impact than him dieing.

The best of DC heroes are better than the best of Marvell but as a whole Marvell is better than DC.
I can agree with this. Notably with the existence of Batman (the greatest superhero of all time right there,) but I like Marvel's cast more in general. I find most of DC's characters pretty lame, to be honest.

But I hate how convoluted they both make the full mythos of their universes. It's absolutely ridiculous. Not wishing to anger anyone, but all of those comic book series that have been going on for 30+ years just need to stop, and we need to move on to new material.

Essentially the difference between DC and Marvel, is the generational gap. The majority of DC's fans are middle aged men. DC has characters they grew up with. The younger generation doesn't quite grasp DC's characters as much because they're harder to relate with as people. Whereas Marvel's characters keep up with the times and a vast amount of them we can relate to. (Not on the level of having powers aspect obviously) but on personal issues.

Go to someone from a younger generation and ask them to list 20 DC characters and most wont get past 10. Go to someone a bit older and not only will they list over 20 characters but they will give you a brief summary of each character.

Then go out and ask those same people to list 20 Marvel characters and you will get over 20 characters from both generations and a bit of a summary on a good amount of them.

I'm not saying DC is bad in any way. Since this topic is about one over the other and I have to choose which side of the fence to be on. I choose Marvel.

Marvel hands down for me. The comics in general are better written and look better, in my opinion.

Also, Marvel has Deadpool, Iorn Man, Spider-Man and The X-Men (which includes Gambit, Nightcrawler and other awesome characters).

DC only has Batman that I actually care about, Superman is just dull.
Also DC has animal-vegetable-mineral man, which is just unforgivable.

Marvel for me. The only DC heroes I found interesting where the ones without powers and for a Super hero company thats not really good. Plus DC does not know how to do villains outside of Batman or the big cosmic terror ones like Darkseid or Mongul. Also I really prefer having all these fantastical elements added to the real world rather than DC's overly idealistic world. And really some DC villain plans are so ridiculously complicated it is hard to follow.

I see a lot of people blaming Superman for being bullet proof.
IF A SUPERHERO IS NOT BULLET PROOF THEN THEY DIE.
Spider-man dodges bullets and no one blames him for it.
Superman is not overpowered, he's fighting gods [http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20080831174811/marvel_dc/images/a/a5/Death_of_the_New_Gods_Vol_1_7.jpg] for Christ sake.

DC pulls in great villains and big conflicts for their characters. Cadmus, The Brainiac Construct, Darksied, The Anti-Life Equation, The Halls of Fate. And that's just from the JLU cartoon off the top of my head. Seriously, DC nay-sayers go back and watch Justice League Unlimited. Marvel never has the balls to take itself that seriously and do it that well. At least it didn't until this Avengers movie project came about.

That makes it sound like I'm anti-Marvel. This is not true. I love Marvel characters. I like Magneto, Venom (Venom that's a man-eating goo monster from outer space, not the punisher-venom [http://marvel.wikia.com/Eugene_Thompson_(Earth-616)]), I like the x-men when Wolverine doesn't have amnesia.
Oh and fuck Deadpool. He's not that cool. Get over yourselves.

To say you don't like DC comics as a whole proves that you don't actually care much about comic books.
