Marvel Vs DC

Ok, this one is hard for me. I do love alot of Marvel comics, Captain America, Daredevil and the entire Civil War series just to name a few. I also love DC but only for two characters, Batman and the Green Arrow. I used to enjoy JLA but Superman ruins alot of it for me. Superman is too perfect.

Whats everyone elses thoughts?

My thoughts exactly. I prefer Marvel overall, but Batman makes up for a lot of that.

I'd have to call this a toss-up. Marvel has the better stories, but DC has the better heroes.

I don't really care about who does what, because both write some fantastic stuff. However, I find that DC take themselves and their work a little more seriously & produce darker stuff.
Marvel imo seems to have a little flipancy in it and isn't quite as dark.

My vote goes on DC.

Marvel is better... noticably... everyone in DC can defeat anyone else... I have seen Batman beat Super Man and he is just a rich guy... and not like Tony Stark/Iron Man rich genius so it really doesnt make sense. But I guess when you have anti-everything spray its all good(!)

DC has a few good characters that can will never, ever get stale (just reinvented). Plus, they hold the rights to several major IP's that are discontinued/ended, including the Watchmen franchise. They can hold their own.

Marvel has Stan Lee and all his IP, several others that they can milk out every once and a while, plus Disney financing. They will survive.

All in all, I like Batman, but I like the Punisher more.

With regard to actual comics, I'm pulling for DC right now. "The Blackest Night" has been much more interesting so far than "Dark Reign" or "War of the Kings" or whatever weird Normal Osborn crap they're pulling over at Marvel. Of course, as a longtime Green Lantern fan, I may be slightly biased.

Green Arrow kicks ass!

But marvel does write some dark stuff, notably "The death of captain america" and alos a lot of the Noir series is incredibly dark.

Funny how people still enjoy Captain America comics. Maybe it's because comic book publications always lag behind here in Germany, but in just about all the recent comics (especially the Ultimates arc) he's about as big a douche as one can get, and that's saying something when compared to a rendition of Tony Stark that's practically tailor-made to be unlikable.

I guess I will always prefer Marvel over DC, it's just what I grew up on, and to me most of the costumes of DC heroes and villains just look awful. However, in recent years I have diverted a lot of attention towards DC due to a friend proving to me that some of their stories and characters are pretty damn good.

I prefer marvel, because they have deadpool and the punisher. Also I agree with the OP, about superman he's to perfect.

I've been warning people about Loeb's suck factor since the overrated "Long Halloween"/"Dark Victory" series', but NO.. No one believed me.

At any rate: I guess i have to go with Marvel.

Marvel comics are about everyday people with powers. DC comics are about outstanding people with powers. I don't read comics to read about everday average people. I want beings of mythic and epic proportions. Comics are the essence of escapism, and marvel, doesn't seem to understand that. Also, the long halloween is in fact, awesome.

I go with marvel as well I mean Batman is kick ass butt I like the X-men and Spider-man better.
I also love the punisher. And somehow Marvel heroes make for more decent games than DC heroes.
I am not really a comic book fanatic and I got most of my comic book knowledge from the internet cartoons and videogames.
