No one else is gonna do it? Not the news guys? Me? Ok then.

I'm excited. Tired of Nirvana covers (or maybe a heavily edited version, but I doubt it) being used in trailers, but still, atleast the song works. (Marvel needs to teach DC about music in trailers)

Also Sigourney Weaver, cause why not? Dont know what character she is playing though, cause I seriously just watched the trailer, then made this topic cause someone has to.

I still need to watch Luke Cage....and The Iron Fist....

I've really liked the Marvel stuff Netflix has been kicking out (or at least the two series I've seen) so I see no real reason to not expect this to be good too. Although at what point do criminals just go "You know what, let's go to a different area of New York cause Hell's Kitchen has way too many superheroes in it"?

I suppose I'll have to get to Luke and Iron before August.

Cage is alot like Jessica Jones, six episodes worth of story and character building spread out over double the episodes with alot of downtime and essentially dead air. Though fortunately they didn't make Nuke-equivalent the smartest and most level-headed guy in most of the scenes he was in this time around.

Iron Fist I actually sorta like. Story's not amazing, but the fighting is a different style and it's put alot of people off. Personally it reminds me of a more grounded Into the Badlands at parts(which I very much recommend if you haven't checked it out, if for no other reason than the spectacle) Unfortunately, since this is a Netflix Marvel series and isn't Daredevil, it's the same crap of six episodes worth of content spread out over double. I will advise you to just watch the first and last ten minutes of the second through third(or fourth) episodes. You'll save alot of time and wasted effort. It's a fucking trainwreck of a storyline before it actually gets into the actual story. Also keep in mind that they can't do Iron Fist justice in the format and budget they've got.

No, you really don't. Especially Iron Fist. Just...just skip it.

OT: Meh, I actually find the netflix stuff very sub-par. Only season I genuinely enjoyed of any of those shows was season 1 of Daredevil.

Oh, and Nirvana songs can fucking die in a festering dumpster fire.

I knew this was coming, but I still don't know what to think of it. Mostly because so far I found the Netflix Marvel output very hit and miss.

Daredevil S1 is good. But I only really liked the Frank Castle/Punisher parts of S2. The stuff with Electra and the Hand can just sod off. Luke Cage and Jessica Jones had some good stuff alongside a whole bunch of meh. Didn't like Iron Fist at all and stopped watching at around episode 10. It has now replaced early S1 Agents of Shield as the worst thing in the MCU.

Speaking of which, that show has just been gradually improving over its run. It's probably the best its ever been right now and in its current state I overall like it more than the majority of the Netflix stuff.

It tells you everything you need to know about these series that the "money shot" of this trailer, akin to the iconic circular pan in the Avengers trailer...is all four of them beating up dudes in a corridor.

I've still only seen S1 Daredevil and Jessica Jones. I liked them well enough apart from being slightly overlong, and everything I've heard about S2 Daredevil onward is that it doesn't get any better. Any reason to push ahead with this one?

I hated everything that had to do with The Hand on the previous series, it was just so bland, boring and aggressively uninteresting which is fucking ridiculous considering that's Ninja's in New York which is as stupid a premise as you can have and it should be fun, but it really genuinely sucked, however, Sigourney Weaver is the villain, so there's that.☮️

Well to be fair, Luke is in Harlem, Danny's in eastern midtown, and JJo is in nondescript Manhattan.
Although it's all mostly filmed in Greenpoint in Brooklyn.

I still need to watch Daredevil. Liked Jessica Jones, enjoyed Luke Cage enough, and didn't care for Iron Fist. Actually found some of the Iron Fist characters interesting but not Danny himself which is a bit of a problem. Actually found Danny really obnoxious and kind of a jerk. Davos was completely on point about Danny and I found him more relatable honestly.

Gonna be watching this regardless of how it looks beforehand just out of curiosity honestly

I have 2 episodes left of IronFist. Seen all Daredevil and LukeCage and will do JJones when I finish IF.
In my opinion it's OK, they're not super good shows but interesting enough to keep me watching the 13 episode seasons.
I hope TheDefenders keeps par on Daredevil which I have liked the most. I also hope Punisher appears, I dig him!

I hope putting him with Luke will improve both, and as Ive said many times before, instead of two separate series, make a "Heroes for Hire" one.

Maybe it will. Danny as a central character was kind of agonizing, maybe being with Luke will help that. Maybe Danny will develop a sense of personal responsibility...

Yeah...Netflix Marvel sure does love it's corridor fight scenes.

I honestly don't know if anything can help the Iron Fist's actor's performance. In theory, he and Luke Cage are supposed to end up as best buddies, but I just don't really know if those two actors can pull it off with each other. I don't particularly find Cage to be very good, nor do I find Danny compelling either. Both actors felt too....I don't know...cartoony I guess? It's hard to describe, they just felt like they were "ACTING" when they were acting. And as much as I hated the Jessica Jones series, I will say the actress at least sold me on her character actually behaving naturally. Season 1 Daredevil did too. But...Luke and Danny? I'm just not seeing it. I think they're going to have lines that fall so flat, they are going to drag the other two actors down with them, and make all the scenes fairly terrible.

I hope not, I'd really like the show to be awesome....I'm just not holding out any hope of it actually happening.

Danny with Luke is pretty jokey. Nothing like Spider-Man or Deadpool, but I am hoping MCU Danny will lighten up. Hopefully Luke will bring that out in him.

Daredevil season 1: Loved it
Jessica Jones season 1: Loved it
Daredevil season 2: It was good, not great. Loved the Punisher stuff, but the Elektra/Hand subplot bugged me.
Luke Cage season 1: Meh. Great soundtrack and good cast, but suffered from inconsistent pacing and a weak af secondary villain. (Not the main one, the other one.)
Iron Fist season 1: Awful. The only thing I liked was Colleen Wing. The rest was trash.

Iron Fist and Luke Cage were not good, even though i liked Cage in JJ. So will just watch it for JJ and DD. Though to be honest im more excited for the Punisher tv show. But will give Defenders a go as they may work great as a group. Kinda like how it was fun with the Avengers interacting with each other.

I think it should be good. It's a tighter season only 8 episodes. And hopefully less pointless filler (I'm happy with team banter filler though). I do feel that the quality has been devolving each season. Daredevil > Jessica Jones > Daredevil Season 2 > Luke Cage > Iron Fist. But hopefully this turns it around.

Well Luke Cage is actually in Harlem. And I'm not sure where Danny Rand hangs out but it's not Hell's Kitchen.

Edit: Ninja'd

Yeah, it was one assumption that built on itself. Obviously Daredevil is Hell's Kitchen but for some reason, I thought JJ was set in Hell's Kitchen and I assumed since she went to Luke's bar that it was also in Hell's Kitchen (and I just don't know diddley about Iron Fist)

We all know what happens when you assume and yet I did it anyway. And I would have gotten away with it too if it weren't for you meddling kids!
