According to a recent EA press release [http://ea.gamespress.com/release.asp?i=1544], the Arrival DLC will be released on March 29th for 560ms/bioware points.

From the article:
In Mass Effect: Arrival, Commander Shepard is sent to the edge of the galaxy to rescue an undercover operative who may have evidence of an imminent Reaper invasion that has been looming since the very beginning of the series. Returning and playing a prominent role in Mass Effect: Arrival is fan favorite Admiral Hackett, who is voiced by legendary science-fiction actor Lance Henriksen (Alien, Terminator).
And we have some great screenshots to boot:

After the glory that was Lair of the Shadow Broker, I can't wait to see how this DLC plays out.

I...I need to go change my pants now.

That's WAY sooner then I was anticipating! I figured it would be soon since they were starting up the hype machine but I was thinking end of April at least! Yay ME2 DLC!

Pffffffffffft. Arrival of what? Giant, sentient spaceships that were waiting in dark space for thousands of years? We have dismissed that claim.

.... so, BioWare .... are you saying that you will proceed in stealing away my time? First Dragon Age 2, which is making me replay DAO and almost every noteworthy DLC related to it -- and then you are throwing THIS at me?

How many hours of my life will you devour as I wade through Mass Effect 1 with DLC and Mass Effect 2 + DLC?

Do you have no shame?

A month after the official announcement (which I count as the first reports about the Dragon Age 2 insert), just as I predicted. Awesome. Though I can uderstand people who have no internet connection will be miffed about missing out on important story content, I will still be enjoying this.

Also cool is that I'll be able to actually meet Admiral Hackett. It's strange the amount of camaraderie I felt towards the Admiral in the first game.

The DLC seems pretty good, but at the same time "Mass Effect 2" received very mixed reception from the actual gamers, who became a lot louder about Bioware's design trends with "Dragon Age 2". "Mass Effect 2" sold well because of the first game, and a lot of people making the complaints about it had already purchused it, so their numbers didn't really affect sales, also, assuming it was a "one off" thing, the rage wasn't quite as extreme.

I'm not going to argue about the mechanics, and whether they were good or bad, however I expect EA/Bioware to push "Mass Effect 3" back from the time frame they had so far presumed. The insert in "DA 2" was before "Dragon Age Rage" which has included a lot of criticisms over "Mass Effect 2" as well.

Good news on the DLC, but I wouldn't be holding your breath for the third game, I'd actually be expecting it late next year instead of late this year. I have no evidence to support this at the moment, but I'd imagine Bioware realizes it can't afford another rage incident and needs to make sure the game is of decent quality, and what the consumers actually want.

Awesome... now I have to go buy more MS points to get this (thanks Bioware)

Also, is it just me or does anyone else think that Admiral Hackett kind of looks like Zaeed?

It's certainly possible, though (even after viewing the bioware forums) I think Mass Effect 2 was almost universally praised by both gamers and critics alike. Not to dismiss the people with legitimate gripes against the game, but a lot of the rage for Mass Effect 2 (and Dragon Age 2, for that matter) is overblown.

And, while DA2 was certainly a rush job (damn recycled environments), I still thought it was a fantastic game.

More DLC? I'm not complaining, but it's looking like this game will never end! And being the obsessive-compulsive that I am, I have to get all of them in order to feel like I "really" beat the game.
