Mass Effect 2: How did you do in the suicide mission? *spoilers*

All my squadmates were loyal. I sent Legion to open the doors because I thought that he was more infallible than Tali. I've heard that some player sent Jacob because he offered and some Mordin because they thought he was a tech guy. Anyone tried using Kasumi?

Garrus was the 2nd squad leader. I had Tali escort the others back to the ship and it worked out fine. Miranda was the leader the second time around. That worked well, too. I had Samara do the biotic barrier, as I thought Jack was more of an offensive person. Did anyone else choose someone else for the barrier and it actually worked out?

Grunt, Zaeed and Garrus was left to hold the line.

Took Thane and Mordin with me to fight the Human Reaper.

No one died. Maybe I was overly careful.

I was ridiculously careful. I obsessivley upgraded my ship and went about the loyalty missions like crazy, literally the second I got them I did them. When the mission came up, my entire team was loyal save for Miranda (of whom I'd had a nasty argument with) and after reading a lot of online guides I finally worked out my winning formula.

Tunnels: Legion
First fire team: Jacob

Escort crew back to Normandy: Jack
Second fire team: Garrus
Biotic for the long march: Samara

Finally I had holding the line: Mordin, Grunt, Legion, Miranda, Thane, Jacob, Samara and essentially everyone else who wasn't Garrus and Tali as I took them with me for the final battle.

Whole team survived and whole crew survived and suddenly I felt like the king of the universe.

I did two playthroughs (both Paragon, both imported Shepards and both making the same decisions) and both times I successfully kept my entire team alive.

Both my runs through the final mission worked out with all loyal members but crew death on the first.
Paragon run:
Tunnels - Tali
1st Fire Team - Miranda
Escort - Grunt
2nd Fire Team - Miranda again
Biotic - Jack
Final battle I took Mordin and Garrus with me. The crew didn't survive as I waited too long to go through the relay.

Renegade run:
Tunnels - Legion
1st Fire Team - Garrus
Escort - Jacob
2nd Fire Team - Garrus again
Biotic - Morinth
Final Battle - Grunt and Jack. Learned from my mistake and saved the entire crew as well.

Everyone was loyal except Miranda because she was being a jerk to Jack and I couldn't yell at them both.

Legion opened the door because a Robot should be good with computers and Tali seems very... fragile. Garrus lead the first team. All went well.

Jacob lead the group back to the ship because he seemed like a guy who could handle that kind of thing. We were good.

Now here I zoned out a bit. I understood the Biotic thing but I thought that the second fire team leader was actually just one person trying to be a distraction. I sent Jack. She got shot. It was bad. Samara was my Biotic because I did all her quests and I really felt like it was her or Jack and Samara seemed to have a more... stable Biotic ability.

The final fight ended up as Me, Garrus, and Thane. Why? I was a sniper guy and I wanted to fight with my fellow sniper guys, and Legion had already done something cool. Besides, Me, Garrus, adn Thane!? How could that team lose!? We kicked but. Miranda died because of her like of loyalty to me.

Moral. Don't get in a fight. Both parties will die.

First time I went through, Jacob died, so I restarted, and Mordin died for no apparent reason. 3rd attempt, I took Mordin with me and I beat it through with everyone alive and me happy.

The first time I played through I didn't upgrade my ship, so I lost Jack (who had been my love interest which annoyed me greatly) and Legion (who I never really liked the first time around).

Specialist Technician
In my first game I chose Mordin, who died. The second time I chose Legion (I think, or Tali), who survived.

Fire-team Leader
I chose Jacob first and Garrus second. Everything went fine

Biotic Specialist
First I chose Jack and then Samara. Everything went great with that.

Fire-team Leader
The first time I chose Tali, who died (shot in the stomach, twas horrible). The second time I chose Garrus, and he survived.

Escort
The first time I was a bastard and didn't sen anyone back, so my crew died. The second time i sent Mordin back, because I knew he wouldn't survive the last battle thing.

My final battle team
The first time I had Grunt and Samara (Samara died due to not being loyal) and the second time I had Jack and Tali.

On my second playthrough everyone survived, but on the first time only Jacob, Thane, Grunt, and Zaeed lived to tell the tale.

Okay there is a KEY to who will survive:

Garrus, Miranda, or Jacob can lead the two fire teams.

Jack or Samara can do the Biotic shield

Tali or Legion can open the computer door in the tunnels

Anyone can go with you at the end or in your squads, just choose who you want to fight with.

You also need all the ship upgrades (Shield, hull, cannon)

I went the moment I was able to, I sent Tali into the tubes, and garrus as squad leader, then samara as my biotic, with garrus as the squad leader again, and have zieed stay back to help
survivors, and then face the reaper with miranda and grunt
no-one died

I had the feeling something big would come along, so i made sure to kit out my ship with all the upgrades and did everyones loyalty missions. completing the game was a secondary to me, i was just making the most of the game experience.
On the mission itself, i just went by instinct on who should do what and thankfully, i chose right every time and nobody died. Not even Kelly

Grunt & Zaeed, all times. With these two, I could sit in a corner and do nothing, and all enemies would just die within a few seconds. And since we all had the area concussive shot, anything that bothered me shortly found itself sitting.

First time: Whole squad survived, but entire crew was liquefied. Felt like an idiot.
Second time: No casualties, at all.

Grunt was king of the 2nd team and he died Miranda was queen of the 2nd team, and she was fine.

Mordin was escort guy, and he was fine.

Zaeed and Garrus came to the boss with me.

We all lived. Gamerpoints galore.

I actually considered Grunt to crawl through the tunnels and open the door. Thought that would be pretty funny.
