Tunnels - Tali
1st Fire Team - Garrus
Escort - Grunt
2nd Fire Team - Garrus Obviously
Biotic - Jack
Final battle -Legion and Jack

Everyone survived. I have thought of playing it through again, but I'm waiting till I'm finished with Fallout 3.

Everyone survived. On a renegade playthrough I tried to get rid of as many as possible and ended up with Tali Garrus and Legion surviving, heh.

Oh and Kasumi can be used to go through the vents and open the door, I've tried it. Kinda funny with her half sarcastic tone bitching at you and calling you 'Shep'.

I tied the same on my renegade playthrough although Tali got shot and Grunt lived instead

Specialist tech: Legion, because it made most sense.

1st squad leader: Miranda, because she seemed competent.

Biotic: Samara. She has clearly showed herself as a powerful biotic, and Jack seemed a little too mentally unstable to rely on.

2nd fire team leader: Garrus, because I thought Miranda could need some rest, and the team could need some rest from Miranda. Also because Garrus had lots of experience with this.

Escort: Mordin, because he didn't seem like he would do a good job of 'holding the line', him being a squishy salarian and not liking Kirrahee's speeches.

My team: Thane and Jack first (Shockwave rules against Husks.) Then Tali and Thane in the end. (They provide the finesse and distractions, I cause chaos as Vanguard.)

Everyone was loyal. Everything went perfectly.

One death, with this configuration:

All upgrades, all loyalty (not Samara, fucked up on the date *facepalm*)

Tunnels: Tali
Support Team: Garrus

Biotic: Jack, because, well, 'most powerful biotic in the universe?'

2nd Fire Team: Garrus again

Escort: No-one, by the time I got there only Chakwas was alive so I didn't think it was worth it.

My team: Grunt + Garrus, everyone else held the line.

Ended up with one dead Samara. Damn irritating. Oh, and the crew died as well, but no-one cares about them.

You didn't do a renegade play through? You don't know what your missing our on!

I did just fine, but I was kind of disappointed by how easy it was. I was still on the edge of my seat the whole way though, so they definitely did something right (we all know the last boss wasn't it).

Heat Vents: Legion, he seemed the most logical choice.

Second Team Leader: Jacob, both times.

Biotic: Samara, she is a Justicar after all.

Escort: Thane, he seemed most fit to handle it.

Final Battle: Garus and Mordin, I needed people who could use tech well since I had biotics and combat buckled down, though I don't like Tali in a fight, good character, sucky fighter.

I lost Jack, but she wasn't loyal so fuck her.

First time I lost Zaeed. Had a feeling I would.

I think I took Tali in the ducts
and had Garrus lead the 1st fire team, Jacob leading the 2nd
Had Jack lead the survivors back to the ship

Then had Samara put up the barrier

Then I took Miranda and Thane for the boss

Second time through had everyone survive, though!

I never do a renegade playthrough. I'm just too darn nice.
That and, this is kinda hard to explain, I always saw Mass Effect as something like an interactive movie and so once I had figured out how I personally wanted the events to go, then rarely did I make any major changes.
Example being that in Mass Effect, every single playthrough I romanced Ashley, Wrex lived on Virmire, I saved the Rachni and the Council.
Likewise in Mass Effect 2 every single playthrough I was faithful to Ash, recruited Garrus first, did all the loyalty missions in similar order and generally made the same decisions.

Some might say that I'm being unimaginative but I like to call it efficiancy.
