If it's a new species I'm pretty certain I know what it is.

[quote/]The raloi are the most recent sentient species to join the galactic community. An avian species originating on the planet Turvess, the raloi made first contact with the asari in 2184 after launching their first space telescope and discovering the asari cruiser Avedes.

As reported by Cerberus Daily News, in 2185 the Citadel Council formally welcomed the raloi to the galactic community. Sold-out Council-sponsored shuttles arrived at Turvess bearing intrigued visitors and gifts of good will during the welcoming ceremonies. At one point the krogan representatives of the Council delegation were ejected from the proceedings after introducing a violent sport called kowla, which resulted in a multiple deaths and injuries. After the conclusion of the ceremonies, a raloi delegation was dispatched to the Citadel for a three-month stay to learn about intergalactic law, history, alien biology and culture, and mass effect physics. Due to an outbreak of an alien flu virus among the raloi, the raloi have to wear environmental suits while in contact with other alien species
From Mass Effect Wiki

http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Raloi

Unfortunately it looks like another suited race. That's kind of cheating Bioware.

Oh well, I guess we'll see what they really look like in Mass Effect 3 assuming this flew dies out.

EDIT: My bad, it's human.

Heh. More humanoid aliens. I'm getting sick of those. I would like to see a hivemind made out of billions and billions of amoebae capable of storing and transferring information. It would essentially be a giant brain, a single giant individual. Imagine the fun times you could have communicating with it.

Your idea is interesting, if not rather unoriginal. I would not complain if it actually was an DLC, though. :)
So... the Geth, then.

Yeah well the Geth is a hivemind, but it's still just individual bodies connected with each other. Humanoid bodies, even.

What I'm saying is essentially one big organism. But I suppose you're right. The Geth come close.
SPOILER ALERT! (I have no idea how to do the concealed spoilers, so I apologize).
Do NOT read the rest of this if you haven't yet finshed Mass Effect II!!!!!!

The geth are a hivemind. They operate in individual vessels, but they're not individual at all.
Even the "Heretics" are part of the Hivemind, but their resolution is computed differently to "Legion's".

I think of it as less of a hive mind and more of a...well, I suppose a computer. The bodies of the Geth aren't their true forms, more of a shell with which they perform tasks. They are in fact more like individual programs. I think there are roughly 300 programs for each individual Geth body (don't quote me on this). So when loads of Geth are gathered together they're programs join together to become a greater whole.

Put another way, 2 Geth are a Nes, 4 are a Nintendo 64, 10 are a Playstation 2, 30 are a 360, 100 are a Gaming PC ect.

Legion is different because he was built to store a lot more programs so he could travel alone and hunt down shepherd without turning into a retard once he left Geth space. I think he's made up of about 1,100 and something programs.

Oh, and Spoilers are done like this [spoiler7/] *text here* [/7spoiler]. Obviously remove the sevens.

[spoiler/] Like this
Thanks for that, I'll utilize that in future.
Let's see if this works.[spoiler/]I always wondered if the fact that they integrated Shepherd's armour into their system somehow that it maybe made them less hostile, though I suppose that's attributed to the fact that they weren't hostile in the first place towards Shepherd and the Heretics were just indoctrinated and turned against him/her. Considering I payed full price for what seems like half a game, I'll be happy with any new content as long as it is free...
Half a game? Despite being twice as long as the first?

OT: How much time did you spend on this, exactly? When I saw the word "queen" I immediately thought of Killzone 2 and the Helghast...

You have to admit though, that for a Bioware rpg, it is quite short.
I did everything 100% (even depleted alllllllll the planets, now that was boring) and I only clocked 65 hours. The first game took me 90 to complete 100%.
It's about the same. I can complete the first Mass Effect in about 37 hours on Insanity, visiting every planet, surveying every mineral, killing every enemy on foot (no Mako kills, no car is stealimg my XP), finding every damn nook and cranny in the game and both bits of DLC (Incidentally, this lets you hit level 57 in a single run, you might be able to get higher if you exploit a few areas).

That's about exactly the same amount of time my second game of Mass Effect 2 took (Also on Insanity), when I knew what to do and had the bonus resources and had less planet scanning to do, and got all the upgrades to all weapons, tech, and biotics, did all N7 missions including Zaeed's loyalty mission and the Normandy crash site. First time it took 42 hours to do roughly the same.

On lower difficulties I could do it faster.

I killed literally everything the game (i had nothing left to fight), including all the thresher maws which were a ***** to track down, but if you didn't use the Mako much, then I can understand how you cut all those hours out of the game.

The Cerberus Network mentions a new species joining the worlds respecting the Citadel authority. It's called the Raloi. An adjective used for them in the news brief was 'avian' which I believe means they resemble birds.

Not as much as you might think. But still some time.

The only other bioware RPG that was shorter than ME2 was Sonic Chronicles.
It was a bit shorter, but not by much. Dragon Age clocked at around 35-40 hours on a single playthrough for me (100% completion), ME is around 30 hours (again, 100% completion). However, I found ME2 to be a much more focused experience. Comparing it to ME1 wouldn't be fair since ME1 had much more "padding" to stretch it out (hell, it was infamous for it). Also, in today's industry of 10-hour singleplayer campaigns (if you're lucky) that have close to zero replay value, a 30-hour game that I can play through 3-4 times before getting bored is fairly good value for money... ;)

Does Zaheed even have any mission dialouge?
Yeah, he did. However, that's easy to put in, since any in-mission dialogue are either comments or exchanges with a simple Question-Response triggers that allow you to use any combination of characters and still get the banter.

I didn't say I didn't use the Mako, I just got out of it every time there was something to fight. It's still not possible to take more than 40 hours for a thorough game of Mass Effect unless you really don't use the Mako and walk everywhere.

The only places I didn't kill absolutely everything were the respawning Geth destroyers in the final mission.
