Ok, so most people know that Bioware ported ME2 to the Ps3 and it's being released Jan 18. Anyways I only have a ps3 and 60 dollars so I preordered it. Anyways how much replay value does it have? I'm only asking this because I could've bought Fallout: New Vegas or something else used or cheaper.I only got ME2 for the story.

There is a lot of replay value for Mass Effect 2, although most of it comes from importing different saves from Mass Effect 1. I don't personally know how well the short "interactive comic" thing will deliver on this, but I hope it will give enough choices to alter the story in a variety of different ways.

As far as gameplay goes, the game has 6 different classes for the player to choose from, so you essentially play through 6 times to beat it as every class. And trust me, the classes all play out very differently. I've beaten the game a good 9 times. Once as every class, with the Vanguard class and additional time and the Sentinel class another 2 times. I'm taking a break now before I go back and finish off playing as a Vanguard 1 more time and my Soldier class 1 more time.

I would say good choice, ME2 has an excellent storyline that really hooks you and drags you through wanting more and more of it. Also as for replay each class plays nice and differently and if your not fussed about playing as a character of the opposite sex then playing a Male/Female the second time through has different options and dialogue sections that can be amusing.

Theres so much to find and do in ME2 that I really just took my time and picked through everything, looked everywhere for hidden items and missons and did everything I found.

Enjoy! Its a great game.

Well I've played the game six times already. But if I enjoy a game, I can replay it endlessly and it never gets old. I can't help but feel that for most people, the replayability of Mass Effect 2 would be hurt without having played Mass Effect. Not just because of the choices but because those choices have to have more weight in the context of the game rather than the comic they're going to have on the PS3 version. I can't imagine playing Mass Effect 2 without having played Mass Effect. It would have been a completely different experience.

But if only have a PS3, then you don't have much choice.

There are a HUGE amount of different choices you can make in-game (even more using the interactive comic) and even just one playthrough is fantastic enough on it's own.

Mass effect being one of my favourite series' of games I am slightly biased, but seeing as you specify you bought ME2 for the story you shouldn't be disapointed. As Magicman says the various classes and, for me anyway, the different ways the end can turn out, the game is very replayable.

I'm too biased to ME2 to give a proper opinion.

The storyline is great and replay value is high to attempt different choices and see what differences it makes in conversations. Also battle system changes like everyone said. Compared to a lot of games that boast 'replay value', ME2 has a lot more going for it. You said you bought it for the story and that's what you get. Bioware makes stories like none other.

FO New Vegas is the bomb though. I'm not sure I could make a decision like that.
