Hmm... If the one disc is a special content disc, won't it mean that one is an installation disc, and one is a play-disc? ME 1 had installation- and playdisc. So, t seems that the third disc consist of extras 'n stuff. Though I could be wrong.

It seems people have forgotten that there have been a few two disc rpgs on the 360 so it not some big new thing, but hey it's just more of what is sure to be a great game.

Not interested since my 360 RROD'd a couple of weeks ago out of warranty and I'd rather stick razors up my ass than pay these cunts money again. It sucks that I have about 30 original games that I am now trying to get rid of, I should have pirated everything but I am an idiot.

Also, I thought disc numbers stopped meaning anything around the time the FMV adventure games first appeared back in the mid 90's..?

Oh Gods, I think I've just had a crisis.
Someobody point me to a UK e-tailer that has the CE for Pre-order!

[Edit: Oh Lord, Collector armour and weapon? Okay, I came.]
GAME is the only UK Retailer thats doing it. Though £40 for the PC CE aint bad at all.

This is exciting news how?

Games are naturally getting bigger and due to the lack of a blu-ray drive in the 360 they have to use DVD's which have a lot less space on them. If this game was on PS3 as well or if the 360 had a blu-ray drive this would be on one disk without a doubt.
PS3 Fanboy detected.

As long as you don't have to switch between discs more than once, god damn Legend of Dragoon storing 1/4 of the map on each disc making me use disc 1/2/3/4 interchangably, I'm cool with it.
I actually liked that game immensly...I actually beat it on my PS3...
As did I. But switching discs whenever I wanted to freaking backtrack just got annoying.

Believe me this is nothing compared to final fantasy, some of their games are more than 3 discs long o_o
you mean like, FOUR discs long!

EDIT: Seriously though, no final fantasy game had four discs, Square Enix made Lost Odyssey, and that did have 4 discs (I really don't see why it needed more than 2 though) but saying "Some of their games are more than 3 discs long" is wrong in two ways, the company is Square Enix not final fantasy, and none of them were over 3 discs
Bzzt. Both Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy IX came on four discs.

How is this newsworthy? Were we doing similar articles back when games went from 1 floppy to 2 (and then on to 10)? Or did we do it when they went from 1 CD to 2?
It's just the natural progression, isn't it?
And it's only natural that it would start happening on these kinds of games that, not only have more content in terms of single run-through gameplay time, but also have branching conversations and hundreds of hours of speech.

I never was a fan of pre-release hype, even though I get sucked into it more often than I care to admit, but could we please stop getting hyped on the pointless, expected stuff as well?

If this is indeed bigger than Dragon Age then ME2 will be one hell of a game (150-200hrs anyone?). I honestly think that Bioware will gain a reputation for making games with this much sustenance, I mean really that's two long games within six months of each other...

Will gain?
Will?

Haven't you ever played Baldur's Gate?

I hope the additional disk space is used to make the side missions not boring as hell. Loved the game, side missions just sucked though.

Blue Dragon had 3 discs and wasn't nearly as heavy graphics-wise.
Lost Odyssey spanned 4 discs.

How is this impressive?
Especially if it's just going to be repetitive and boring planets like the first Mass Effect.
I have not seen anything fun in the trailers yet, except more sex, more explosions and a hell of a lot less role-playing and having fun.

EDIT: Also, whoever said that Lost Odyssey was made by Square Enix should check their sources, it's not. And all the better for it.

I'm gonna pop up and say "quality not quantity".

Does a game being long mean that it will be good? Possibly, but it's not a definate thing.
