And why on Earth would BioWare need two DVDs - that's over nine gigabytes of capacity - for one single game? "Because you cannot fit this much awesomeness on one disc," Priestly said
Bioware, you just made my day. This is the one game that I have been reeeaaaallllyyyy looking forward to(forget MW2!) and this news makes me all the happier. Too much for one disc? Not enough goodness, I'm sure.

Awww, awwwww, nerdgasm.

But really, this is going to be EPIC, the game looks a lot more polished then DA, but it's TWICE THE SIZE, while the main quest be like...120 hours by it's self? I mean really...This is going to be great.

Just hope I can get the Speacil Edition, as the debt card is a bit iffy in GAME. (The only place you can buy it here in the UK.)
If that's a typo, it is an oddly amusing one. Anyway, this can only be construed as good news. More Mass Effect is always welcome. I shall also have to get to work on preserving myself a copy of the collectors edition.

Bleh, I do not like the idea of two discs. I can accept it to an extent, three is stretching it, and four is just too crazy. But this answer deserves some merit on it's own;

So I'll forgive Bioware.

Still, I don't like the idea of having two disks, even if you only change it once. I don't get the excuse of "There's so much sturf in it!", is it that hard to compress a little bit of data? And if I can play devil's advocate for a bit, that excuse just seems more pompous and self-entitled than an actual reason to have two discs. But hell, maybe they do have enough game to warrant 2 discs, can't know for sure until it's released.

Then again, I don't have an Xbox or a PC good enough to handle any type of games, so my little peeve is negligible for most people.

Well, i guess its a good thing that Kojima decided to stay on the PS3 or else it would require like 4 DVDs.

This could possibly be the greatest thing to happen in 2010. Which is a shame because after January life is going to get very dull.

Remember how almost every single game was released on at LEAST two CDs before DVDs became widespread? I still have Emperor: Battle for Dune here, with four separate discs. I like this.

As long as you don't have to switch between discs more than once, god damn Legend of Dragoon storing 1/4 of the map on each disc making me use disc 1/2/3/4 interchangably, I'm cool with it.
They have confirmed it will be one swap and shouldn't have any impact on the game. I am so stoked for it now. I don't know if I can wait a whole nother month.

Mass Effect 1 for PC is like 20 bucks, cheap and great for those of you who want to move to the better platform. (flamesuit)

Btw, 2010 has 2 awesome games coming. ME2 and Alpha Protocol. Only game I bought in 2009 was Dragon Age :p

There's so much to this game that it had to be put on two discs? I'm sold.
Agreed. I haven't even played the first one, since I can't afford it (trying to get it though) and I already want this straight away. And that quote at the end... Chris Priestley, you're awesome. And BioWare are made of win :D.

"You can install the game to your Xbox 360 Hard Drive as long as you have enough memory to do so and have the correct disc in the drive when you play,"
I dun gettit - why would you install it on the xbox if you then need the disk anyway? Or do I just not understand the concept here? Is it one of those 'copy protection' things that could be solved with a no-cd patch?
