They can't have Wrex as a party member. Keep in mind that some of the players SHOT HIM DEAD at one point in the game, and the decisions from the first game carry over. Designing complex dialogue trees, quests, etc. for a character that may or may not be there is not very efficient.

However, I'm guessing that Wrex will be making an appearance as an NPC, so you'll get to see him.

So did I. An alien asking for help moaning about how his people are " Dieing out" or whatever. Never used him anyways ,the smaller party members took enough space jumping in front of your aim as it was.

You don't know that. They have said that all of the characters from Mass Effect will appear in Mass Effect 2, either as party members again or as NPC's in certain missions (provided that you kept them alive). I would assume that anyone starting ME2 without a save from ME will see all of them at some point.

According to the FAQs on the official website ( http://masseffect.bioware.com/ [http://masseffect.bioware.com/] ) we'll be seeing the old crew again, though as permanent party members or guest appearances remains unclear.

Word about the net is that Tali and Liara on the only shoe-in candidates for party members, as neither can die during in your campaign, and both are necessary to progress the story in the first one.

It's important to note, however, that this one takes place two years after the first, and Shepard has been either MIA or KIA during that time. It's possible, if not likely that most of your old squadmates have moved on with their lives.

PS: Yes, I am overdoing it, but seriously, just throwing this out here (even though it is unrelated): Bioware is awesome, and if they pull off the Old Republic MMO (which I think they will, they really know their shit) then they will be unstoppable, and god willing, will escape the cookie cutter shaped sinking sea monster of doom that is Electonic Arts.

I have to say I never had any needfor Wrex in my party. I spoke to him during the off-mission sections but nothing else.

Besides variation is good, and it'll be nice to see other characters in the new one. Would be quite nice to have Tali back though, I liked her.

I definitely won't be seeing Alenko, that's for sure.

You have to consider that Wrex was in it for himself. Even if you didn't plug him and had him in your squad everytime, after two years he's working for someone else. Plus, he may be bitter about the fact that you wiped out the only known cure for the genophage.

In the aforementioned Diablo, you could've chosen Mage, Rogue or Warrior and Monk in the expansion pack. But according to lore, the one who killed Diablo was a Warrior.

That may have been true of older games, but Bioware isn't going to shortcut it. They have already said that they'll use the data from your Mass Effect save file to modify ME2, based on your actions. Even down to that annoying fan that kept wanting attention. If you ever look at the completed missions, it tells you how you completed them. That shows the level of detail they want into recording the game.
