Mass Effect 3 - 4 player co-op online missions?

There is a rumour on xbox360achievements that Mass Effect 3 will have a 4 player co-op mission mode, this may of course not be true but if it is are you guys looking forward to it and how do you think it will work? 4 Sheppards or what?

I wear my Mass Effect fanboy hat with pride - so believe me when I say I don't believe for a second this is true. Nothing that has been said by the developers or producers lends anything to this rumor.

Although, I suppose that could be a fun mode. I doubt they'd do 4 Shepards though.

I don't believe it either but it would definitely be an interesting mode haha, I reckon that if they did it then they would have one Shepard with 3 other people as squad members and you get to choose which squad member you want to be or something along that lines

Why would I want multiplayer in a game that should be focusing on a great single player experience?

In the article that i posted above, it is confirmed that Bioware are currently exploring multiplayer so I guess it is a possibility, don't think it will happen but well it may be possible

Well, I know that want to do an online experience set in the ME universe (seemed like they were leaning towards an mmo experience), so maybe somebody's wires got crossed.

Well, I know that want to do an online experience set in the ME universe (seemed like they were leaning towards an mmo experience), so maybe somebody's wires got crossed.

Maybe, I sort of hope that they do make a Mass Effect MMO but I kinda don't as I reckon it would probably ruin it :/

I'd believe it if it were a seperate, multiplayer game set in the Mass Effect universe. Tacking it on to ME3 just doesn't sound right to me.

It'd be interesting. It'd be awesome too. And since you wouldn't be playing as Shepard for gameplay reasons you could play as krogan or turian or whatever takes your fancy.

The problem with that though is that there will be 3 multicolored Shepards running around and one wild card. It would be neat to see what happens with that though.

I can't say I wouldn't LOVE to play ME co-op, but I doubt it's going to happen so long as Shepard is the main character. Maybe if they made ME4 with a heavy emphasis on character creation, THAT would translate perfectly into multiplayer.

Bioware has already stated that ME3 is a solo experience. However they have been contemplating ,and have even stated publicly a few times, that they would like to do an mmo set in the ME universe because it would make a lot of sense to do so. Some of the recent ME articles on the Escapist address this topic.

Oooh, that sounds like a great idea. For a different game. ME3 should be one player, in my opinion. But an MMO in that universe? I'd love playing as a Salarian. All these ME speculations intrigue me...

No. I don't want other people running around the universe that I created mucking it up because they want to do a renegade option just because they think it's funny. If they want to do multiplayer, release a different game set in the Mass Effect universe, but has no chance of creating your own story. For instance, you could play as part of a squad on Earth when the Reapers hit. This happens no matter what, so there's no problem with messing up someone's canon. Perhaps the final mission could be with you and your team providing cover while Shep takes of to gather allies. That is a game I would play.
