Now I will admit I'm enjoying the game, but seriously. WTF is up with the changes made from ME2 to ME3? Even though I did find the second game pretty easy, the way Bioware has tried to ramp up the difficulty is pretty awful. Some by choice and others not, and others obvious bugs Bioware should have taken care of. Anyways, here's my list of gripes. Now, I like a good challenge, I've beaten Dark Souls nearly twice, but the mechanics I'm finding here are just fucking awful and cheap.

-Getting shot while in cover...honestly, ever since I noticed this horrible feature in Kane and Lynch 2 (coming for that game you can see just how bad it is), it's been turning up everywhere else. I mean the game is already riddled with enemies types that rush at you to get you out of cover. Who in there right mind decided this is what the game was missing, and get the fuck out of here with that "enemies in higher position-" crap. It was a horrible idea in K&L2, and its down right offensive to see it in a game of this caliber.

-Insanely high health husks are back......You know one enemy that really pissed me off with the second game, those damn slow moving husk that I had to empty three fully loaded weapons to take down just one (and they always come in twos). Well in this game they're back, and they're the brutes. Now them alone I can still manage. But I've noticed that ranged enemies tend to continuesly keep spamming along with these brutes, and getting shot while being chased around by krogan husk is really a bad combination. And the fact that the brutes are really good at never allow you to stay a second in cover... I guess I should complain about that though, it's not like cover is important in this game since you can fucking still get shot behind it....>><<

-Zombie husks can still stun you.....every damn game these days has to have a zombie enemy where 50 low health mobs rush at you as you run around backwards taking pot shots at them. Now once again the second game was also guilty of this, and I can't fucking believe it's back here. Once again these husks can stun you, and when you have 50 of them on your ass, being stunned allows the rest to catch up and chain stun you to death not allowing you a second to move. But this time, its almost as long as freakin cut scene....seriously fuck you Bioware....>><<

-Stealth is crap......I mean it doesn't work! Get close enough and they still know you're there. I find nothing more annoying than going stealth just to be tackled by a brute a second later. Now I get it, even though they can't see you they can hear you if you're close enough. Well a feature like that works in stealth games, but not here when that second of invisibility really comes in handy as an infiltrator.

-Power misfiring.....You remember in ME2 when you'd be in cover and you'd try to use an ability of yours or of a squad mates, and even though you have the target in site it would still hit your line of site? Well, it was a bug in that game and it's back in this one....WTF!

-I just revived the fucker and now he's down again.....Yeah you're friendly AI still sucks....thank you....>>

And finally my favorite gripe of all.

-Let's roll instead of doing what I want to do.....You try to go into cover, you roll. You try to revive a squad mate up close, you roll. You try to pick up an item you roll. You try to open a door, you fucking roll. FFS Bioware, it was annoying enough that in Gears every ability was just about attacked to the B button, but at least theirs worked! I mean I try to get into cover, I roll, and then when I do get in cover, I get shot, and when I'm not getting shot behind cover there's five sorts of close range enemies closing in on me a mile a minute, and when I try to take them out quickly I find them with a health bar a mile fucking long, AND WHEN I TRY TO STEALTH TO GET AWAY......Bioware, seriously, fuck you! XP

Somebody didn't roll Vanguard and max out Charge/Nova combo.

You will thank me later.
I love the purity of Vanguards. "Cover-based shooter? Fuck yo cover. This game is now a headbutt simulator."

Speaking of the vanguard...

I noticed this change when playing the ME3 demo. The melee attack isn't as cool as in ME2!

ME2's melee attack was cool because the screen would shake like crazy and the Shepard would make this awesome grunt. Now in ME3 he does some stupid super-saiyin snotball of power.

but yeah, vanguard is the way to go. No other shooter game has anything as cool as the vanguard charge ability.

Couldn't be said more elegantly.

Headbutt, Falcon Punch, Wub Wub Cannon... if you don't play Vanguard, you're playing it wrong. -_^

I'm playing as an Adept myself and I'm enjoying the combat a lot. I think it's a big improvement over ME2, where (IMO) only Soldier and Infiltrator were worth using at all. Now all classes are useful, except, coincidentally, Soldier. I like that it's not just "sit in cover and fire weapon" combat and it makes you haul your ass around the battlefield either dodging enemy fire or out-maneuvering them. It actually makes me think about what I should during battle instead of just sitting in one place.

PS. I know how stupidly powerful Vanguards are and that's why I'm not playing as one. Multiplayer, however, is a different story, if I ever get around to it.

Hey look, more whining, why not...

Like others have said. If you're not using the Vanguard, you're doing it wrong.

The only reason my first playthrough is with an Infiltrator, is because my Vanguard playthrough is reserved for my fiery reheaded vixen FemShep.

Played tons of the demo and the whole game by now, and I think it's great.

That's definitely happened to me, so I found different cover.

If you can't handle the brutes, you're doing something wrong, it's not the game's fault.

-Zombie husks can still stun you...
Same as above. I've never had a problem with it or heard of anyone having a problem with it.

-Stealth is crap...
...The game has stealth?

-Power misfiring...
I didn't know that was a bad thing. If anything it should be criticized for being too easy, all you have to do is point at them and choose the power.

-I just revived the fucker and now he's down again...
Squad commands.

-Let's roll instead of doing what I want to do...
I had this problem too. For the first ten minutes, after which I had gotten used to seeing when the "Revive" or "Pick up" or whatever text turned white to signify you would do that thing, and gotten familiar with the range for snapping to cover.

Never played Mass Effect. I suppose the game gives you a choice of some sort.

Shouldn't we be able to just play with whatever we want instead of just choosing the obvious path?

Because the vanguard is awesome.

All the classes are perfectly viable, just as good as the vanguard, however where all the other classes rely on boring cover mechanics, vanguards charge into battle shotguns blazing blasting people with massive biotic attacks.

I will admit, my short trip trough the RPG world always involved the most brutal type of gameplay, archers when I was bored, so I can't say anything against such a game design decision.

But it seems like a kick to the nuts to the game design. "FUCK YOUR FANCY INTELLIGENT MECHANICS!"

Again, nothing wrong with it, but reminds me of many people on the Ecapist that claim they despise shooters and how the games they play are much superior and complex.

Here's my patented. step-by-step guide to beating Mass Effect 3
Step 1: Be BFFs with Liara
Step 2: Get Stasis
Step 3: Get a sniper (I prefer the viper)
Step 4: Max that shit out
Step 5: Use stasis on an enemy
Step 6: Pew pew pew
Step 7: Win the game

NOTE: If an enemy cannot be effected by Stasis, then proceed to just shoot it in the face.

No, good sir. You need to play an infiltrator!

-You can cloak and sneak up on them from behind!
-You can hit them with a sticky grenade causing them to stumble so you can finish them off via BANG!!!
-and you go into slow-mo everytime you snipe, giving you ample time to snipe through the peep holes in their shields!

If you don't have the Black Widow yet get it! That gun will make you 'gasm with every shot!

OT: you must suck as an infiltrator because I am pwning the shit out of bitches with the Tactical Cloak-heavy melee combo.

Gettign shot while in cover? Enemies have superior elevation, and you're in low cover. Deal fire back, and find higher cover if possible. Brutes are meant to be minibosses of a sorts;just pull out a powerful weapon (semi automaticsare generally best) and use fire-related abilities,or Warp, since Brutes are all armour. Husks are all melee;keep your distance. And,the extent of stealth in the Mass Effect franchise was "Tactical cloak to get to a superior position". Powers misfiring? Well,it happens. Blame it on the Omni-Tool or Biotic Amp. Just shoot them while the cooldown ticks down. You're COMMANDER Shepard. Issue commands to your squadmates! And for your accidental rolling? Wait until the action command text turns white, and stay stationary. Also, get used to the distance from cover you have to be to prevent rolling.

Long story short? Be a good gamer.

Play sentinel (only mp really). Why? Because everyone assumes it sucks. Then you just repeat warp->throw (or just throw if there are a lot of other biotics in the match) and watch the explosions steamroll. In other words, ignore the fact there is this bizarre "Tech armor" move they keep saying you have. They somehow went from a meh power in me2 to complete shit me3. Seriously, why the hell would you tie a cooldown penalty on a power-based class as part of their MAIN ability.

I will admit though, I have a place in my heart for vanguard (when charge isn't choosing to not activate). Though wubstep canon is of limited use in large maps or anything relatively big.
