From threads that bioware are locking as they pop up

So I know this is a sore subject with most people, and I am tired of hearing rumors about it too, but I just had a games conference for my work where publishers come in and talk about upcoming games and we get to see/play demos. In the presentation for EA they brought up Mass Effect 3 and pointed out the best points about the game and the Collectors Edition.

In these bullet points, and stated by the EA representitive presenting the game, there would be a multiplayer mode available as DLC around a month after the game is shipped. No other information was given, maybe it's something they're announcing at Gamescom? (some of what we got to see were said to be "exclusives" as they were not due to be shown until gamescom.)
So how do you feel that not only are they using dev time to make a multiplayer mode for a game that doesnt need it but are also charging you extra for it?

I blame EA and the part of the community that thinks multiplayer needs to be in literally every-#@$%ing-thing

It's EA,what did you expect? And even if they're considering it,it should be Co-op not multiplayer.

Co-Op would be fun. As long as they don't take anything away from the main game, it should be fine.

I remember murmurings of a possible MMO sort of thing way back when the first one was released, which to me would be a good idea, especially in the ME universe. But really? Anything involving Commander Shepard doesn't lend itself to multiplayer. Co-op, MAYBE. So how about this: you don't shoehorn multiplayer into yet another singleplayer game, and RELEASE MY DAMN GAME ALREADY?

Ehh... as long as the single-player is unaffected I dont give a damn. A shame they waste time and money on something that sounds as if its going to fail though.

I don't see it working well. Co-op would be the only multiplayer mode that might removely work, but even then you're losing a bit of functionality in terms of pause-and-plan gameplay that Mass Effect offers(and pretty much requires on higher difficulties).

I would admit 3 player co-op on Mass Effect sounds neat in theory, but I don't see it working. To top that off I pretty much expect it to be competitive multiplayer.

I'm going to be optimistic though, I didn't expect Assassin's Creed to have a good multiplayer mechanic in any form and it surprised me. Provided it isn't too pricey I'll probably get it.

Well, fuck. Guess I'm going to have to cancel my pre-order for this too.

Really wanted to finish the story, what a bummer. Too bad it's looking more like Gears of War than Mass Effect at this point.

Nice to know for once single player isn't sacrificed for multiplayer. Not sure I'd buy it though.

but co-op is multiplayer... anyways, ive never played mass effect but sounds fairly sensible to me, dont people complain alot about awful ai in ME 1&2? i suppose actual people in your squad might be better strategicly... or worse now that i think about it

Released as DLC? Interesting.

They didn't say it would be paid of free DLC. If it is paid then this idea was already shot in the kneecaps.

EDIT: A friend of mine brought up a good possibility. It's probably going to be part of project ten dollar.
Well that would lessin the sting in my opinion. Im not sure how I feel about ME multiplayer though... I wouldnt mind seeing a ME multiplayer game, maybe about the first contact war between the Humans and Turians (which I see as a cross between Halo and COD for some reason), but im not sure about a MEMP set around the events of ME3...

okay after doing a double take and let do something i never done before...
WHAT THE FUCK oh come on since when does ME3 need a multiplayer it sold well already with ME 1 & 2. While where on it do you really really reaaaaaaaaally think that the people your loyal fans and customers who bought your game want a multiplayer in ME 3? If i want a 3rd person cover based shooter i'll go play gears or war not this shit. Look i love bioware to death but i don't think that could put toghether any sort of decent multiplayer. The only go thing about this is that rolled it out as DLC(If this is on the disk so help me god...)

I could understand this if the multiplayer portion was being released alongside the game(and you still had to pay for it), but this is optional content that comes out later on.

urgh mass effect is a truely great game series so why are they spoiling it with a crappy multiplayer tie in.??????????

dlc should NOT be planned before games release and it should definately not be released only a month after becuse why dont they just include it in the game such a disgrace it making me not want to buy it
