Don't hate Bioware for trying something new, the possibilities are endless. Imagine a co-op mode from the perspective of two alliance soldiers fighting through the First Contact War. I'm enthused by this idea.

And if you don't want to play online competitively, you don't have to buy the DLC.

So what kind of multiplayer is it exactly? Is it just a completely seperate part of the game where you fight each other and is in no way story related?

Or is it a coop version of the main game where I bring a friend in to play with me?

If it's the latter, Will they be able to affect my dialogue choices?

I was afraid they were going to stick it in the main game, but they aren't! That's awesome! Why is no one else cheering? This is GOOD NEWS!
After seeing what happened in da2 (agree or disagree with me on this, matters not) I just want the me3 franchise to end on a high note and score a trio of "great" games.

They are devoting ressources which could have been spent on single player for this multi DLC, how is this reason to be cheerful? Even if you don't buy it, it will negatively impact on your single player experience by its very presence in the dev cycle.

Dunno, maybe your right and its nothing to worry about but I really don't want to see me3 be anything less then awesomness ><

It is my dream to become a great game producer and give the public what they want.
No DRM and all content available from the start.
It's not about giving the public what they want, it's about giving the company what it wants. And it wants money.

And it's not really like putting peppers on the side at Quizno's, it's more like getting a cheeseburger and then being offered a box of art supplies for a little extra after finishing your burger; it's unnecessary and it doesn't make any damn sense.
if it's a good cheeseburger then who cares? all you have to do is say "no" and you don't have to pay for it. people who are getting worked up over it don't seem to realize that this is a RUMOR and it's OPTIONAL even if it is true.

so why get worked up over something you don't have to pay for?

that's like if i got pissed at Nevervision for offering me a free copy of guitar hero van halen for purchasing guitar hero 5.

it was optional, and not getting it wouldn't affect my life in any negative way.

Goddammit greed has gotten to EA. (Big surprise, I know )

If this story holds water, I probably will not invest in that, but nothing is stopping me from purchasing the game.

i wish people would stop being so negative about it. you do realize that companies only start work on DLC AFTER they've finished their game and released it to manufacturing, right?

i can see two ways multiplayer can work in ME3, Co-Op Local Lan and Online AND/OR a kinda Pinacal Station esk leader board based challenge mode. that's it.

i assume they is some overlap like as the game dev winds down to finishing touched and bug hunting, they begin working on planned DLC, i think its neive to think they spen 100% time on game then move on cus that is not econimcally viable

If it's a free DLC package, then it's a brilliant Idea for those of us who couldn't care less about multiplayer in what is A Singleplayer RPG, dammit!

Don't want it? Don't even have to install it.

stated by the EA representitive presenting the game, there would be a multiplayer mode available as DLC around a month after the game is shipped.
I was really stunned and caught off guard by this. This is simply brilliant. One of the best ideas I have ever heard, and one that EVERY game should have applied to it.

Im not really interested in Multiplayer in ME.. But the notion of a game getting Multiplayer tacked on as an optional bolt on feature, I am 100% in approval of.

Please, this is a wonderful idea, please, please, please please expand this to other games.

Wow, it is true, Bioware fans always complain about everything and can't be satisfied.
Doesn't matter though, they'll still buy ME 3 an become the 'sheep' that they hate so much.

I quite like this, I might be interested in ME3 multiplayer. Presenting it as an optional purchase is quite brilliant. I reckon most people will buy it anyway, especially if it also ships with some extra weapons or armor.

Depends if it is Project 10 Dollar DLC (good) or not (bad). I'll be buying it either way as I don't intend to play multiplayer, it just won't sit right.

Who are you to decide my priorities? If I'm the producer I can forego more money in favor of better deals for the customer.

Being charged extra for extra content is not any more unethical than being charged extra for a different game.

All of the people complaining fail economics forever.
