Mass Effect 3: Operation Resurgence

Like many other people, I participated in the event this weekend. It's all fun and good and all that, but I believe something is missing. Wasn't it advertised that everybody was to receive a free "pack" to purchase from the in-game store that guarantees an unlock of one of the new race/class combinations? Here it is Sunday afternoon, and I have yet to see any notification of the sort. I even played one of the new maps and completed it in the vague hope of there being some kind of unlocking mechanism for me to receive my pack. No dice.

I already unlocked one of the new race/class combos the hard way (Geth Infiltrator), but I swear they advertised they were giving out a pack for everybody, free. Is there anybody else that has yet to receive anything?

I'm hardly one to complain about free things, but I was just looking forward to it, is all.

Its when the event ends, like in New Zealand I dont get the packs until Monday afternoon due to time zone differences

They are giving out a pack that guarantees to unlock one of the new races. Everyone who played ME3 multiplayer this weekend will be getting the pack sometime this coming week (probably Tuesday, like the other Operation rewards).

The catch is that I don't think it guarantees to unlock something you haven't unlocked yet. So when you get your pack on Tuesday(?), there's a chance you'll just get another Geth Infiltrator card.

Sadly, I get the impression that you're likely not going to get the reward from Raptor thanks to those jackasses who glitched the game into giving them unlimited packs. Still, hopefully the issue gets sorted out and you eventually get your just reward.

No problem. I was actually somewhat confused by the situation at first too. When they first announced Resurgence, they seemed to imply that we'd be getting a pack specifically for the new content instead of the Premium Spectre Packs for this week.

Well, they DID say they were going to start redistributing the reward packs from it once they fix whatever exploit those people were using. So hopefully that'll be soon. I'd really like to get another weapon to play around with. Not to mention it's pretty lame to lose out on rewards from an event I participated in.

As there's a bonus for playing them this weekend, what does everyone think of the new maps?

I haven't been going out of my way to play them but have ended up doing them both several times (in addition to several times during the week after the update hit).

I'm really liking Hydra. Because of how wide open it is, it's got a different flavour from the rest of the maps and those "stand around for 4 minutes" objectives can be quite deadly. I;m find it quite a fun map to play though.

I'm still not sold on Condor, though the more I play it the more I'm almost enjoying it. I still think it's annoyingly dark and a pain in the butt to navigate but it's less of a trial than it was teh first few times I played it. It still feels very one dimensional to me though, with a very obvious camping zone and too few intersting flanking lanes.

Oh believe me, I know. I have all the characters from before the Resurgence Pack. Having a Krogan melee Brawler is stupidly satisfying.

It should be noted that if you're playing on PS3, like me, you won't get the free pack. Sony won't allow it, the bastards.

Then again, I saved up credits over the week and got me a Geth Infiltrator, a Widow and a bunch of sniper dmg upgrades.
Tactical cloak + hunter mode + Widow + headshots = ludicrously effective. And move importantly, it's opened hunting season on those stupid Geth Hunters.

I've found the new maps are a bit too easy. I like them but playing with random people we're finishing in around 17 minutes instead of the usual 20. I'm not complaining but they don't see that challenging. The most challenging thing about Condor is getting to kill something before everyone else has.

Don't know what it is but it seems the enemy always appear where I'm not covering (yes, I know that it intentional spawns away from players). What I mean is there will be 2 team members covering one direction, another person somewhere else and I'll be facing the other way covering a different spawn point. And they always get first crack at each wave.

I've only played with random people and any attempt to do Silver has ended in disaster. Anyone had any luck going for Gold with strangers?
