Recently, a person on Reddit claims to have taken a survey that contained details on the plot, gameplay elements, etc. for Mass Effect 4. While many are skeptical on the validity of the claims, people have noted that the same thing happened with Dragon Age: Inquisition prior to its full reveal, and the details that had been leaked turned out to be true.

The details provided can be found here [http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1031314] for those curious (not posting them in the thread because some may not want to see possible spoilers, and I'd just be copying & pasting everything).

Not too crazy about having to play as a Human again but the rest of it seems pretty cool. Although the part about vaults and the ancient tech seems a bit Borderlands doesn't it? Still looking forward to more info.

Actually, it was giving me more of a Destiny vibe.

Honestly, I'm actually inclined to kinda believe this as Inquisition was leaked the exact same way, and everything here seems to fit in with announcements Bioware has already made. I hope it connects back to the Mass effect series atleast a little bit, but exploring new frontiers with new characters is always a good thing.

Interesting if true.

If they are setting it in another galaxy they'll still have to follow up on that awful ending and pick one of them as canon. I doubt they'll retcon the whole thing at this stage. I was kind of hoping that it would be a smaller scale interquel. Even if I don't get the game at launch I know I'm going to play Mass Effect 4 eventually.
Dialogue:

Building upon the rich history of strategic dialogue that has defined the Mass Effect series, you can make meaningful choices in every conversation you have with characters that impact the way your game evolves. The next Mass Effect adds deeper control over your conversations through a greater ability to interrupt and change the course of the conversation as it is happening. During certain conversations, you will be able to take action based choices, such as the option to pull out your gun and force someone to open a door instead of convincing them to do it through conversational guile. Action based choices give you more options for how you approach dialogue with characters in the game and can lead to more extreme outcomes on the story as it evolves around the decisions you make when interacting with a huge cast of NPC characters.
Strategic dialogue in Mass Effect? Since when? You pick the Paragon option and keep picking the Paragon option so you can get more persuade points so you can pick the better Paragon option.

I really hope the dialogue system is better than it's been so far. If they are going to insist on keeping the wheel then they should do what Human Revolution did and have the option to see what I'm going to say. Also the boss conversations in Human Revolution were one of my favourite parts of that game.

Remove the Paragon/Renegade system and I'll be interested in the series again.

Why still a human? It the last three games they at least had the excuse that it was a new galaxy but now we all know the world I see little reason to lock us into the most boring race in the galaxy.

I don't feel particular connected to humans in games just because I am one. If forced to play them I spend much more time wondering why I can't play any of those cool aliens then any kinship to the digital mankind.

Well that sounds kinda cool... but Inquisition sounded pretty cool on paper too and I didn't care for that one bit. But everything mentioned so far does sound pretty awesome, I'm actually looking forward to how it comes out.

Ugh. After everything got thrown out at the end of ME3 I'm not sure I want to get involved in the series again. It'd really have to knock it out of the park.

EDIT: Fuck. That actually sounds interesting. Just keep whoever thought the star child was a good idea FAR away from it. And EA.

On the one hand, the "Send guys out and get them back a set time later" sounds very assassin's creedy. On the other hand, being able to actually do it yourself with multiplayer designed characters...kinda interesting. Like playing X-COM and taking control of one of the characters.

My one complaint is that it sounds waaaay too ambitious - like the content will be very shallow, much like the majority of DA:I content was. Drown the player in tons of tedious crap to give the impression of content, and punctuate it with occasional sections of actual gameplay.

Don't get me wrong, a lot of it sounds good and I'm especially glad they seem to be minimizing the connection to the original trilogy (too much baggage there), allowing for more creative freedom. I just want to see more concrete info before I start getting hyped...

The travel thing sounds really cool, but also kind of impossible. I don't believe they can pull of a seamless landing flying system or the 100 planets.

I hate the idea of going to a different galaxy to avoid the disaster that was Mass Effect 3 ending. Jesus Christ that's cheap and lazy.

The barely scratched the surface of the Milky Way Galaxy lore and now they are gonna try to do the lore of a whole new Galaxy! On one hand this sound cool but on the other it seems like it is a lazy way of distancing themselves from the first Me trilogy. Its also disappointing that other than the token members of other races the only other races you will have contact with are either prothean-like or just hostile to you.

Maybe it's just me but there was one tiny bit that stuck out.

"Like a jetpack for jumping"

If we get a mass effect with jumping (real jumping not this contextual crap) I'm sold right now. I know it seems a stupid little detail but the lack of a jump kills a lot of games for me when jumping would solve a lot of problems, like a 2 inch high barrier.

I agree with you. If they're going this way, why not just make in a whole new IP? Why attach Mass Effect to it at all, if the events of the first three games are really not going to matter or have any impact?

Unless opening one of these vaults gives me some way to get Shepard back, then I'm still feeling very "Meh" about this whole game.

About damn time they brought the Mako back, even if I do have to upgrade it before I can hump enemy mechs to death like in ME1.

Since the game seems to be set much further in the timeline than Mass Effect 3, it seems like there should be a lot more new tech in the game, even before digging into the vaults. Here's hoping the jetpack will turn into the Vanquish jet slider once upgraded enough.

I dunno...I have to question the whole 'sci-fi RPG' thing if I'm being forced to role-play as either human military male or, human military female again. I let it slide for the first trilogy but I want an actual sci-fi RPG set in the Mass Effect universe as the next game. I'll wait for actual details before I get too excited or disappointed though.
