OK, so Bioware says they don't want to make "Shepard 2," so what if instead of one person we have three or four? I was thinking like a Salarian Infiltrator, a Krogan Vanguard, a Drell Adept and maybe a few chapters as a Volus or an Elcor maybe? and they could each have their own character arcs like the Salarian has to overcome chronic shyness to assert his authority, the Krogan has to learn to calm down and get along with his team and appreciate people etc.

So, thoughts?

Well, duh, there is only one answer here - a volus adept. The only thing that can measure up to commander Shepard is a biotic god.

Nah I say they should go Dragon Age Origins style and let you choose a race and class with their own tailor made backstories.

Iunno. As soon as they said 'Won't be Shepard or Shepard 2', I immediately thought of some Mercenary doing whatever they want.

It really depends on what direction they go - both with the story and the gameplay. I don't see any game happening too close to the events of ME3, and I don't know if I see a game with the same sort of game mechanics.

Personally, i'd love to see a game set during the Krogan Clan Wars, so unfortunately, a Volus Adept would be out of the question. Probably.

Space Hawke is next.
I thought Hawke was just Fantasy Shepard?
They said that they didn't want the ME4 protagonist to be military. So instead they'll make him a refugee fleeing from earth, who just happens to become the next big influential hero.

If they make it only one playable character, I'm pretty sure it's going to be a human.

If it's a whole cast you play as, more than half will be human.

Humans are dull and boring, aliens are cool and interesting, therefore BioWare will make the protagonist human. God damn humans.

Isn't it obvious? The next game will have you play as Blasto the Hanar spectre! The most manly creature in the galaxy.

I have to wonder, are people who make these jokes actually under the delusion that they're funny?

I thought the same thing. I imagine something like how Mass Effect 2 had you go into the terminus systems, but doing that for the main character as a whole-- someone a little more willing to bend (break) the rules than even renegade shepard, or at least someone whose main mission isn't saving the galaxy.

Like many others I wish we could play as something else than human. I don't think that giving us the choice between human, asari and turian would be too much of a stretch, even if they go for their full VO approach.

I'm really sorry - it seems I haven't gotten a copy of "What is objectively funny: like literally, since this, like, totally exists, guys!". Care to lend me yours? I really want to stop making jokes that are only subjectively funny.

I'd love it to be an Asari Ardat-Yakshi. It'd be an interesting turn of events, considering those who aren't conforming to the law are usually on the run.

You should get to play as a cross between Jake Muller, Arnold Rimmer and Mr. Bean... Now that'd be role-paying....
