Hello all, I recently hit my activation limit on ME. Is there a way around this, or do I have to buy another copy?

On a side note, what were the devs thinking, putting something like this in a game, it only hurts legitimate buyers.

Didn't they offer a free code to take the limit off for good? Sorry, no link.

It's all an evil plan by Microsoft. they want you to buy another copy.
I don't know of any way around it, unfortunately...

For best results, for any problem you have with a game, you should probably try the forums of the actual game company that made it. Nobody here is trained to be Mass Effect tech support.

If that's true, I'd love a link to it. Never heard of it, though.

I changed my monitor, and apparently that made it use my last code. Effing EA.

Believe me, I've tried. They are worthless.

Pirate it?
You already paid for the game.
Wouldn't I then run into the same problem? I'm sure all the keys out there have been used 3 or more times.

What does Microsoft have to do with a game published by EA?

OT:You can email customer support and request more activations I believe but they also can deny it. Good luck.

I've checked all the normal sites to get keys, and all of them failed. I need a key that hasn't been used in order to get ME to run.

Whoops, turns out that was BioShock instead of ME. Sorry to get your hopes up.

There's a way around that.
You install a crack, stops the computer from requiring a disc & bypasses activation limits.
The only problems are that you can't do anything online, for instance multiplayer (Not sure if Mass Effect has this anyway) Though you can still patch & mod it.

Alternatively you could download a portable copy, however you can't patch or mod them or go online.
All right, I'll see what I can do.

Yargh!

It's an old game, there HAS to be a keygen out for it.

Here lemme look...

That took me about a second.

That has a Keygen for it AND crack so you don't need a disc or anything.

Have a good day Sir and always remember...

Look at my above post...

*grumble*

Don't use the crack, just the Keygen OK? The Crack has the Galaxy map problem...

All righty, I've gone there. Thanks for the link.
OK Good, I removed the link. Not a huge Fan of the Ban hammer :p

Just so you know, don't use the crack on the game JUST the keygen, as the crack does not bypass a DRM issue, but since you have a legit copy, all you need is the key bode :)

This is what you're looking for OP
http://activate.ea.com/deauthorize/

It's a tool to deactivate any installs you've done.

IMO since they give you a tool to basically revoke your installs I don't see why they keep fucking putting securom + install limits on all their games.

I read on a forum that someone had the same problem with Spore, apparently they phoned EA up and they gave him a new key or something along those lines, perhaps there is a contact address in booklet? Just a thought.
