I only want posts from people who have played the games, please.

There's been quite alot of people who liked these games, and I have considered getting them, but not got round to doing it. I ask you now, are they actually as good as people say? Please say WHY.

Thanks.

EDIT: This is a diversion from a previous thread i made, in which I made a mistake. Sorry guys.

Im pretty sure no one has played the game, since it doesn't come out till November 3rd, give or take a day or two.

I don't think it's out until November. But I cannot wait, it's been pre-ordered. I definitely think it will be worth it.

You guys can change your posts, if you want, and have anything to say.

Fair enough, I'm downloading Mass Effect off of Steam now, 25%, I can get back to you in a hour or so if you want, but I've herd nothing but good things about either.

Alright. I haven't played Bioshock, but it's gotten many 10/10.
I've only played Mass Effect briefly and it wasn't quite my type of game.

well mass effect 1 was really good in my eyes but it was pretty short for me and once you beat it theres nothign else to do but they said they will fix all of that on mass effect 2.

I enjoyed them both immensely.

I just hope you like dialogue. Mass Effect has quite a bit. I don't mind it because it relaxes me - feels like a nice respite between the Insanity difficulty combat I'm up against.

Define "short". Because you either are very demanding or have skipped through most of it.

Mass Effect is amazing, both story telling wise and gameplay wise. The DLC however, isnt much, and not very good at that.

For Bioshock, its also very good, although I enjoy Mass Effect quite a bit more.

I haven't played Bioshock, but I quite enjoyed Mass Effect. The side quests are a bit same-y as far as scenery, but the gameplay is still pretty fun and the characters are actually pretty well developed.

Depends on what you're looking for. If you don't mind having to take your time with Mass Effect it is brilliant. Never quite understood the hype with Bioshock myself though, seemed pretty average to me.

Mass Effect is a lot shorter than it looks, but its pretty good.

Bioshock is a lot shallower than advertised, but its pretty good.

On the whole, they're worth playing.

On the other hand, I haven't replayed either of them, and given that I replay most of my games, I think that tells you something..

Yeah, buy them. They're both well worth the money and are both awesome games. I enjoyed them immensely.

Watch Yahtzee's review of Bioshock, It's pretty dead on. I really don't think its worth buying, so make sure you play a demo before you do.

There is no point in us telling you why we liked the game. If you are going to like it, it'll be for your own reasons.

Lots of people liked these games, and they liked them a lot. This increases your chances of liking these games a lot.

Do you need another reason?

I absolutely adored Mass Effect 1 (but then I enjoyed the overall theme and story so much that I was willing to overlook some of its little annoyances such as a clunky inventory (although the PC version is much improved over the Xbox360 version). As for Bioshock I thought it was a truly great first person shooter with an awesome atmosphere, usually I'm not a huge shooter fan but it was definitely an experience I would recommend to others.
