EA and FUNimation have teamed up...and the project should be ready in Summer 2012.

But we'll all be dead, so we won't be able to see it. We'll all live to see it, assuming you don't wait until the end of the year to watch it. Sadly, we won't live to see Half Life 3.

How do you feel about it?

...The 2012 conspiracy comes in December of 2012, after the summer.
That said, why can't a game's story just be contained to the games?
It was like when you had to get the book to learn how Saren found Sovereign.

Considering that Mass Effect 3, the supposed final chapter of the trilogy, is coming out at the end of 2011, this simply confirms to me that EA are going to milk every last drop out of the Mass Effect franchise that they can.
I can be wrong but i thought bioware already said that mass effect 3 will be the end of the Shepard story but that the would not be done with the mass effect world(was announced after mass effect 1 if i remember correctly).

If it fleshes out the world more i am all for it.
Would love to see the first steps humanity took with the aid f the mass effect fields(so prior and during first contact war).

So much bitterness! What if the show turns out to be an original, self-contained story? Let's not jump to any negative conclusions at this point (or positive ones, for that matter.)

I don't understand why they would make an anime adaptation of a decidedly Western science fiction seting. They tried it before with the Halo series, and I was not impressed with how that turned out.

My guess is that anime must be cheaper or something. That's the only reason I can think of for making this decision.

DAMN YOU EA!!

I don´t think this will be good hope im wrong but I see this as a way to milk out every bit of money from the franchise >.<

Mixed feelings for now. Time will tell if it's any good. Though this is FUNimation we're talking about so maybe, just maybe they can pull it off.

Yay! Hanar/Asari tentacle ... eh, forget it. It's been done.

As long as there will be ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL and situations where one needs to DIRECT THINGS PERSONALLY, I don't think it will be too bad.

The only such kind of project I know is an Anime series based on the "Supernatural" tv series.

Bold steps, the gesture at least deserves commendation.

I didn't know FUNimation actually made anything. Do they really have an animation studio?

Well, as far as I know it didn't do much good for Dante's Inferno, Dead Space, or HALO to get anime spin-off stories, though I guess with enough time and investment it could be all right.

Wonder why they choose anime as a genre though; Doubt there were any artistic considerations to it though, which usually spells failure from the get-go.

They'll probably be in charge of choosing the studio to outsource it to, and of distributing it when it's produced, but I doubt they'll be creating it.
