Mass Effect: Characters who would have been cool squad members

Generally, what characters in the Mass Effect universe would have been cool to have in your squad? They can't be an enemy or made up but they can be a squad member from the past or future games (which means they're introduction is different).

Think about what...

Role they would have played in the trilogy's story.
Kind of relationship they would have had with the other squad members.
Their strengths are on the Suicide Mission in the second game.
Loyalty mission they would have had in the second game. (You can make up characters in the mission, example: evil twin, etc.)

I thought it would be interesting having Kirrahe in your squad after Virmire to replace Ashley or Kaidan in the first game.
He would be best buds with Mordin and hates Thane for some reason.
Fire team leader in the Suicide Mission, no doubt about it.
His Loyalty mission would be a return to Virmire, going near to where the nuke detonated and pick up a Salarian who was imprisoned and escaped the blast. And is Kirrahe's relative or something.

Also, someone appears to have the ability to unknowingly predict the future.

I don't know, I seem to remember most Volus having Napoleon complexes.

But that could make for a hilarious crew member.

I was greatly disappointed when a Batarian didn't join me, even out of grudging duty to protect his people from further harm, or even realizing that the sacrifice of the Batarian colony was necessary to spare the galaxy from immediate galactic annihilation. I mean, they're all assholes, every single Batarian tat Shepard ever speaks to is either a pirate, slaver, asshole merc, or just a douchebag, but one single exception would've been nice, maybe with a little background to make me have any emotion besides pure indifference about blowing up a colony planet full of Batarians.

Also, Kirrahe. He was the most Broest Brolarian to ever Bro in the Brolaxy.

If ever there was character DLC needed...

If you went Renegade then he dies as soon as he enters the room, so that'd be quite an annoying DLC were you to download it after already doing that mission and being Renegade. At least I feel that's probably death. The Volus don't seem very hardy.

I was really hoping Aria would be a squadmate in ME3, I don't really know why though. Maybe a Salarian in a wheelchair would have been cool too. Or what about a Quarian that lost his suit and he has to stay in a bubble when you bring him on missions.

I'd have liked to have a Battarian squad mate, one who you never have a friendly relationship with - he/she has teamed up with you purely for their own reasons and when you start with them would probably shoot you in the back if they did not need you.

By the end of their arc, I'd like them to still not like you - but respect you. End of the series have them as an alternative leader to Balak.

Maybe a Vorcha? "Hehe... Fire! Not enough fire!" or... No, a Keeper would just be insane. Oooh, a hanar. "This one suggests brutal murder." An Elcor would probably be the most awesome ever, but hard to implement...

Spacer Shepard's mother... mostly so we can actually find out what the woman looks like.

Aria... because Aria. We could finally find out if she was that Asari Wrex used to know. That and she managed to beat the Patriarch in a close quarters fight... and broke two of his hearts and a lung in the process.

The Warden, because I had to make a joke and mine went through the mirror.

Any Krogan in ME3... the squad just wasn't the same without Grunt or Wrex trying to solve every problem by eating it.

Instead of litlle ms. PSP lover, it would have been cool to come to some sort of understanding with the reporter you kept punching in the face and have her join.
Also having the female Krogan you save would have been awesome.

probably a volus i know they can't fight well but Bioware could have done something bring back to biotic god from me2 to be an optional squad mate. that would have been a connection between me2 and me3 but then again...time constraint

Aria was going to be my suggestion. One of the first things she says to you in ME 3 is that she understands the galaxy is in deep shit, "It won't matter WHERE I'm sitting if you don't defeat the Reapers." That said, I don't think it'd be too far of a stretch for her to cut a deal, agreeing to work with you (as a Vanguard class) in exchange for you helping her retake Omega.

That said, I'm still holding out hope that they come out with a Retake Omega DLC. :3

Perhaps have the reporter, and every conversation on the ship would involve punching her, so by the final mission he has the most busted ass face.

Also, an elcor would've been nice.

When I saw this title I had three specific characters in mind, a couple of which have been said already. The three I would love are Aria, Kirrahe and Blasto.

And for races I would've liked, they would be volus, elcor and batarian.

A Batarian squad member might've been interesting, because their character arc would surely have touched upon all that Human/Batarian friction, but in a more detailed fashion that actually let you see the issue from a Batarians point of view, as opposed to the usual "BUTARIUNZ R RASIZT" stuff. Plus, in Mass 3 he could've had a whoel thing about being part of an endangered species thanks to the Reapers.

EDIT: Oh, and yeah, Aria.

Shiala is a character that I thought was really interesting. She had enough qualities that made her stand out visually (green Asari), which made it seem like they were going to do more with her but alas.
