Hey-o Escapist. I found mass Effect (360) on sale for $10 yesterday, and simply couldn't resist.

I like the game enough, but really... It's glitchy. I just found a really bad one and I was wondering if any of you had dealt with it. I'm on the first mission on Feros (you know, base is being attacked by geth, you navigate a series of corridors and stairways while fighting) and I've just hit the point where you leave the tunnels and emerge into an arena-ish place where geth pour in for a while for you to kill. There's pretty much one piece of cover for me to use in the first part of the battle, but whenever I use it I freeze. The game still goes on and I can still shoot, but my movement is completely disabled. even when all the geth are dead I am forced to load up my last save and try again. I can't finish the fight without that piece of cover, so yeah... This happen to anyone else?

Through my 6 or so playthroughs i have never encountered anything other than a frame rate problem. I think it may have froze once when i was playing for hours on end.

I've actually had that glitch before. It happened differently for me though, I got knocked down by a psionic blast, but Shepherd just wouldn't give up. His body had turned into some sort of sluggy, spiral-y, "I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream" kind of shape. I was hoping that the glitch would fix itself if my teammates won the battle for me, but they just stood around, firing at nothing, like always.

Mass Effect's the only game I can remember glitching in bad enough to require me to load from a previous save. Once I got stuck in the elevator. Took me over 5 minutes before I decided that I probably won't be reaching my destination any time soon.

Edit: This is PC version, fully upgraded.

I don't remember it ever glitching up for me, and my 360's pretty bad for glitching. By that, I mean games have a tendency to break in it. My copy of Oblivion is dead, my Halo 3: ODST no longer works properly, and my Fable II is fucked completely.

I can only blame the Xbox, yet Mass Effect still works perfectly, I just don't play it anymore because it got dull.

Only glitch I had on the 360 was blasting myself into a wall, then insta-dying due to wall over-exposure. That happened once and 'sides that it all went smoothly. I think you might have gotten a bad game.

I had a couple of glitches. My partners kept getting stuck in walls all throughout my first playthrough. But then again, even when it's working as intended, it's a bit iffy. Frame rate drops, clipping, odd animations, texture pop in, and numerous other technical thingamajigs.

As far as your freezing thing, it sounds like a disc-specific thing, since I've never experienced it or heard about it before. Sorry.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
main glitches I can think of are a few crashes

Try reloading from an early point, all I can suggest. If that doesn't work...you may have to restart, which is a FUCKING PAIN BECAUSE OF HOW SLOW THE GAMES BEGINNING IS ASJFKDHSFH okay.

I'm sorry. I have some things to work out.

Also hook your Xbox up to an internet connection and patch it - yes console games get patches now - if possible.

Only glitch I ever had was one of the enemies I was meant to kill getting stuck inside a crate, rendering him invincible.

Apart from that the only issue I ever had was a few frame rate drops.

Mass Effect is one of my favourite games now, but it originally took me over a year to actually finish it, solely due to glitches and game crashes. Couple those with the rather undependable autosaves, I quit out of frustration many times.

I'm playing it on the 360 and am frustrated with how the game will, after a cutscene, start me off in battle by having my Shepherd face the opposite direction.

Fighting Benezia I got slung through the walls and flew fast away from any recognizable geometry that made up the game world.
