I'm still waiting for Mass Effect:
Dawn War,
Mass Effect: Rachni Wars,
Mass Effect: Krogan Rebellions,
ME: First contact war,
ME: Cerberus Rising (reloaded),
ME: with a little bit of XCom.
This franchise could be all about prequels!

How on Omega would you kill a volus with sex? They wear those suits all the time, and they die if they remove them, unless they're in an atmosphere that would require you to wear such a suit. You aren't going to be making skin contact with a volus.
emergency induction port ;) that's how

It's why the Mass Effect universe is one of my favourite fictional universes, and why I'm annoyed by unexplained things like thermal clips that don't obey the laws of thermodynamics, shields that stop biotics when they should only respond to fast moving objects, and spacesuits that don't cover the skin and thus offer no protection from space.
I also love overthinking stuff, but I'm a bit perplexed by those particular examples.

Like, how do thermal clips not obey the laws of therodynamics? This might be a personal thing, but I figured that they just built them in sections, so that each section heats to capacity and ejects whatever section is the hottest. Also, this may be my misunderstanding of shields, but I thought they stopped biotics because biotics (or warp, at least) are just a bunch of fast-moving energy wrapped into a spherical shape.

And, again, I might be at fault here, but I can't think of any proper spacesuits in ME that don't cover the entire body, or enough of it that it doesn't matter (Legion's loyalty mission in ME2, for instance - there's only a lack of oxygen, not an excess of radiation, so it doesn't matter that Jack is basically nude from the waist up).

I really don't mean to sound like a jerk; I just want to hear what irks you about these things.

I'm still waiting on Bioware to deliver on their promise that was Mass Effect 1. If I had an actual say in things, I'd let them prove themselves worthy of working on the IP before they give it another shot. Jade Empire 2, perhaps?

Hot objects cool down. Thermal clips never cool down. You could conceivably fire a shot from an SMG at the start of a level, play through the entire level, and then find that all the heat from that shot is still contained in the weapon and has not dissipated. This is just plain stupid.

Biotics are moving mass effect fields. Shields in the first game only responded to high-velocity impacts from physical objects, which is why they weren't effective against chemical attacks like the rachni's acid spray or biotics. I mean, they could have handwaved this easily by saying that the threat detection in the shields had been improved and that shields could somehow cancel out biotic effects, because they're both based on the mass effect, but they didn't, and it annoys me.

As for spacesuits, look at this [http://i637.photobucket.com/albums/uu100/zrowngctr/Mass%20Effect/MirandaMordinMasks.jpg]. There's clearly no seal between the mask and the face, so how exactly are you supposed to breathe through it? They can't even handwave this with mass effect fields, because Joker was wearing a mask that sealed his body against vacuum using mass effect fields, and the mass effect field was clearly visible. There is no such visible field here. I'm pretty sure that mass effect fields are always shown to be visible, biotics are visible, your shields are visible when repelling gunfire, more permanent shields are clearly visible, like those hexagonal geth shields.

Furthermore, those masks don't cover the eyes or skin, and that is extremely bad. The lack of pressure would form ebullisms, and evaporative cooling would cause the liquid in the eyes would freeze or boil away. Ebullisms are seriously dangerous. When Joseph Kittinger took a 31km ascent in a helium balloon, a failure in his suit caused his hand to be exposed to low-pressure conditions, not even vacuum conditions. The low pressure caused his hand to be swollen and disabled for three hours.

I don't expect Bioware to get physics perfectly right, but in a space setting, you should at least do some research about the effects of space exposure, and you should certainly be consistent about your own invented physics.

you are implying rape on males is okay. man, this thread will burn.
Not really

Now that I think about it he wouldn't be at all satisfied because he would be dead. I also assumed that if we were both in a situation that we were looking for a way to have sex it would be consensual.

also I am a man.
