Lets be honest, you've basically just made a review that barely touches the surface of the game, not going into mechanics, the classes, weapons... None of that. You choose to review a game that was regarded as many as brilliant, and you only give it 4 short paragraphs, then wonder why people go "Well, that was shoddy.".

Seriosuly man, relax. You made an altogether very short review and people are disagreeing with your points, you need to realise that there are always going to be people who disagree, yes the other planets on Mass Effect are bland, but it's okay because I like the main story and love sci fi. Most people liked Mass Effect, despite it's faults.
Seriously you need to be calmer when people disagree with you and not just angrily shout, believe me I know what it's like to have people disagree with you. I am most likely the Alpha Halo Fanboy on this entire site, do you have any idea how often I get flamed for that?
But I don't spazz out because that'll only help prove their belief that all Halo fans are stupid loudmouthed morons.

Don't review a 2 year old classic with a couple of paragraphs. If you didn't like the game, that's fine, but posting a couple paragraphs of your opinion and not backing it up just makes this useless banter and not a review. If you really wanted to review the game, think about it. Write down some notes, on the left side what you liked, on the right, what you didn't. Then break it down into gameplay, design, sound, etc. Look over a professional review for help with topics. Don't just post your opinion without backing it up. If you thought it was a bad game? Why? What could they have done better?

Some people review games amazingly in these forums and even if I disagree with them 100%, the reviews are well written and thoughtful. This is not one of those.

True...can I be your sidekick? Not that I'm a Halo fanboy (I'm a reviewer after all, I point out the bad things even in stuff I like), but people rip on it waaaaaay too much. In fact, they rip on it so much that if I were being honest with this post, I would have had to hit the 'a' button so many times in the word "way" that it might overload the previewer.

But to be on topic: SHORT. NONDESCRIPT. And what is with that last paragraph? No sense, does it make.

The gameplay is far from the traditional RPG element. RPG's are usually set in the past involving magic and the like, Mass Effect breaks the mould but as it worth it. Mass effect is a bit like marmite, some gamers will love it others will condeme it and it's hard to decide at first.

The earlier missions are set in the citadel a giant and interesting space station with some fantastic people to meet, just how a RPG should be. But this can be as good as it gets. Once you get control of your own ship and travel to distant planets, the appeal of the game starts to fade. The repetive land on a planet drive around in the mako shoot some Geth system starts to become exactly that a SYSTEM. You start to get board with the game and for me thats when you give up and put Halo 3 on.

As for the main story, it can all a bit linear after a while and for a RPG that is very bad. It is quite enjoyable to see multiple cut scenes depending on your characters decessions and profile, but this is were it ends. There is no multiple way's to finish missions and this starts to become a chore. RPG's are supposed to be the only genre were you shouldn't be able to solve every problem with a strategy guide but you can. This brings the appeal down just a bit.

This is way too short for a review. You don't explain much of anything and you really go off at a tangent when talking about what an RPG should or shouldn't be.

Dude, you're far from the first, you're just more open about it. I love Halo as well, and there are others. But yeah, having a respected member of the community have an Elite avatar does give Halo somewhat more of an air of legitimacy.

I apologise for acting like an arsehole and I really don't know why I did it, you people probably won't except this apoligy, but I must add, I would never ever act like that in real life to anybody. You've overlooked this quite a bit. You've not taken the mass amounts of side quests into your review, nor have you noted one of the games most re-playable factors; The ability to restart the game with the same character, stats and equipment.

I also didn't read anything about the amazing graphics, nor the amazing voice acting. I also didn't see you mention the fact that, even though the driving missions with the Mako are quite repetetive, over 90% of the possible driving missions are optional. Only a small ammount are in the main storyline. You also didn't mention the fact it's extremely fun to watch seven Geth soldiers fly skyward after you just nuke'd em' in the face, from the comfort of your little tin can.

Saying it like that implies that it is possible to not like Tali, a fact I disagree with. She's a mechanic that is very good with ships, has a great voice, an even better figure (*cough*), and a fantastic personality. Of course, people who disagree are entitled to their wrong opinions.
