Technically you can't be a Geth, right? ;D.

Hmm...Drell are kinda cool...so are Asaris (sp?).

first choice, Reaper, because that would be a whole new dimension of awesome.
This is a difficult concept to get ones head around o_o. Can't say I'd particularly enjoy the mass slaughter and the hanging around the edge of the galaxy for thousands of years. But heck, 'be a Reaper' day sounds kinda fun.

At the end of the day though, all the races are goddamn awesome.

...but it'd be weeeiiirrdd being anything other than human o_o. So meh, I'll stick as I am please:].

I would have to say either Geth or Turian. An independent Geth like legion. And you could specialize like the Primes and Hoppers and Troops. Otherwise Turian. Maybe a Volus just for kicks.

I'll follow the trend and say Turian. They're the only ones without a downside... I would be a Drell but the moisture thing would be an issue.

Uuuuuuuhhhhmmmmmm.

Batarian(fuck no).

I don't know, I like being human and stuff. Asari WOULD be cool, but naaah. Quarians are cool too, but, all the hassle with the suit and stuff... Turians? Hmm, nah.

I'll stick to human, they have the least problems. >_<

Geth. I enjoy the hivemind/constant consensus/hub station feel.

I'm fond of the idea of not being an individual.

If I absolutely had to not be a human... a consolidated Geth platform like Legion would be cool but of course, inorganic.

I think Turian then.
of course I'd much rather be human and just... interact with the alien races. Especially quarians.

And dat ass.

Well, Quarian...

Yeah, people can argue the suit crap, and yadda yadda yadda, but deep down I just feel Quarian fits my personality/capabilities the best.

Salarian first, then Turian.
Salarians because they're awesome, and they HOLD THE LINE.

Turians because they're badass

I'd be a Krogan mercenary flying around the galaxy blowing things up, shooting people, having a grand old time

I'd go for a Turian. Or...whatever the hell species Thane is.

Or if I wanted to be a ****, I'd be a Reaper. that'd be awesome.

Elcor.

Facetious explanation: because they most closely represent my actual demeanor.

This one would most likely prefer to be a member of the species collectively referred to as "The Hanar".

Turian or Krogan probably Turian because they look cool. Krogans because of the brute strength.

which would you be?
personally i would love to be an Asari just because. but as a second choice would be a tie for Krogan or A geth like Leigon. krogan to feel what the blood rage is like and Geth to see what its like being a synthetic.
so what would be your first and second choice?
To be honest, out of all the species in the mass effect universe, I would still stick as a human. They are just so flexible as a species!

Let's compare.

Turians: great combat capabilities, but they have little to no biotic capability.

Asari: Long life, and they are second to none in biotics and are good diplomats, but aren't as good at tech and are quite fragile compared to other races

Salarians: Incredibly smart, and fantastic with tech, but suffer from an incredibly short lifespan, and are even more fragile than asari

Krogan: Insane combat capabilities, long lifespans, and redundant systems up the intergalactic wazoo that make them incredibly tough and adaptable, but suffer from almost no tech and are effectively sterile, which makes them rash and desperate, which when combined with their bad tempers, usually leads to a lot of death.

Quarians:Smart, resourceful, fantastic mechanics, and they have the largest fleet in the galaxy, but they have the toughness of rice paper.

Geth: Hive mind capabilities allow them to compute at scary speeds, they are tech-gods, and have effective immortality, but they are susceptible to hacking, and the hive mind means that individual units aren't particularly bright

Elcor: Big, strong, and tough, but lack any real combat skills and are not good at much.

Volus:Great economists and businessmen, but they are incapable of breathing most atmospheres, and lets be honest, they're munchkins in bio-hazard suits.

and finally,

Humans: While they do not shine in any particular field as a whole, they are good all rounders, equally capable in tech, biotic, or combat, and diplomacy, and are a hardy species, with relatively lengthy lifespans and good healing capabilities. Also, individuals are capable of specializing their own skills and tools to maximize their ability in specifics role, sacrificing one strength to gain another.

So yeah, just looking at the general capabilities of each species, I would stick with being human.

But, if I had to choose otherwise, I would probably go with Asari, for they're long lives, which would allow me to see all that the ME galaxy has to offer, and for the biotic abilit, which lets be honest folks, everyone would want to be able to use the force.

As a second, Drell, who I did not list simply because I didn't have enough data to make an accurate guess as to their overall species traits, but if they're anything like Thane then I would definitely give them a spin. Also the perfect recall memory would certainly help me in finding all the stuff I keep misplacing. I am VERY forgetful.
