There are so many ways that this movie can completely fail.

What we would want: SMART sci fi set in the universe, that engages with the same central themes i.e. racial tension, co-operation in the face of a shared danger, the potenial risks of technology.

What the studio making it decide we would want (cus it's a game): Guns, Spaceship dogfights, the force, 'witty' one liners, and blue boobs (actually, that last part would be fine by me)

They're having video game executive producers be movie executives producers? Are they that thick as to think it's that easy?

I'm mad...
They are likely there to give the project some bioware input, and to keep control of the IP. An exectuive producer may just be lending their name to a project to raise its profile, and actually have almost nothing to do with it.

I suspect these three are there to make sure that the film goes down lines that bioware approve of.

Well we can still have the guns as well as the blue boobs, and biotics are quite force like.

Pretty much all you mention as what they'd think we'd like could fit (as long as kept under comntrol) in the smart, mature film we'd want, just so long as the film rembers to keep the plot, depth and other factors.

I've only played ME once, I got to the first action part and decided that the game was rather boring. Due to that, the movie will be either boring, a huge let down, or some other bad thing that I'm too lazy to come up with (aside from the fact that ME's core path is kind of chosen by the player, the character is made by said player [grizzled, brown haired guy or grizzled, brown haired girl] and the fact that quite a few "RPGs"[or third person shooters rather *cough cough*] would not make a good movie).
What about ME2? ME1 is really lame. ME2 isn't.

I look forward to the video game based on the movie. (If you think that is an absurd notion, I give you Prince of Persia)

Do we have to turn every popular game series into a movie? Let games stay games. And I will never be happy with the choice of Shepard, because I really doubt they'll hire a Wasian guy.
Eventually yes. We're going to run out of popular comic books to adapt sooner or later. Hollywood needs another goldmine of creativity to exploit.

(please be aware that I'm not against film adaptations nor very cynical)

That game is actually a prequel to Warrior Within from the Sands of Time Trilogy, it's relation to the movie (which only takes after the "spirit" of the Sands of Time Trilogy) is nothing more than to cash-in on the rise in Prince of Persia interest that the film generates.

I'm not sure about ME2. I've never really had a taste for WRPG's. The only one that has held my attention for longer than 30 mins. was Oblivion (and that was largely due to the fact that I could do whatever the hell I pleased in it :p)
