Sir.

I do not appreciate your suggestion that Africans can not do well in the Winter Olympics. Goddamnit, while it's a different country did Cool Runnings teach you anything?
Jamaica is in the Caribbean, not Africa. Also, the actual Jamaican bobsled team came in dead last and then retired to promote alcoholic beverages.
Just to add my two cents....Cool Runnings is awesome

I as a rule never get wrapped up in hype.
Still aint played MW2, and there are very few games a pay full price for as few are actually worthy of it.
So all I can say is; did ME2 have hype? Because I didn't notice.

As for everything else...
Game play seemed great and massively improved, the RPG element may have been "dumbed down", but if you want micro management trade ME2 for DA:O
The stories "plot holes" shouldnt really be judged until until ME3, in my opinion great trilogy's leave so much unanswered in the second story (Back to the future 2, Empire Strikes Back) the story for me rocked.

Although I'm not sure if I'm a Bioware fan boy, but this seems alot like nit-picking to me
EDIT: as I do find the Halo comparisons in the OP rather weak, sorry

Relatively unknown entry of the first game? That thing was hyped up the rear!
As for the Human reaper, it gives justification for the reaping, and it means that all the reapers we have seen so far are last generation reapers, because they are nothing but space squids and the protheans were just squid faced humanoids.
Wrongo.

The Reaper you goto in ME2 was a cuttlefish as well. That Reaper was 37,000,000 years old. Considering the protheans weren't around that long and you can see what the protheans looked like in the codex in ME2, the Reapers did not see fit to make themselves in the Protheans image. Instead they decided to make them into slaves.

On topic, no. Mass Effect 1 and 2 are good games. Halo: CE is pretty much the only good game in the Halo franchise. Also, Bioware is an exceptional developer and they put a lot of attention into their games where as Bungie just tries to appease the multiplayer crowd.

I read this and thought "Whoever put this up should be shot" NO! this wont happen, Bioware is not like this, if they where, they would still be doing fucking Star Wars games.
They are still making star wars games, JUST NOT KOTOR III DAMMIT! yeah that needs to be rectified.

OT: CE evolved was really good IMO as unpopular as it seems here. The other campaigns have suffered from confusing plot and a whole bunch of I-couldn't-care-less. ME has gotten better with progression thus far. Don't see a connection.

Amen to that!! I don't think I could've said it better myself. I loved ME1, adored ME2 (which I awaited with some trepidation, I might add), and I'm sure I'll enjoy ME3 too. Tht's just Bioware's style: what they promise, they deliver. And they rock.
Well Bioware have a sparkling record, and I hope you guys'll be right. just a scary thought that all the praise/hype/whatever might go to their head and somehow ruin the next game.
but then Im a cynical bastard.
Granted, I'm an optimist, no question about that. But I'll just keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. They aren't going to get very far if fans are continuously breathing down their necks (which is understandable, but can be a bit annoying). So I'll just say "thank you, Bioware", and then it's wait and see.

Actually, you can't blame Bioware for that, because they only worked on the first game (Obsidian on the second). I say, blame Lucasarts for that... :(

Well actually I always thought mass effect was just alternate universe halo story. I mean if the covenant was government it would be the council
You better be effing kidding.
The covenant being a religious extremist theocracy obsessed with waging war against humans as said humans are infidels and an affront to their gods?

I mean, I can see the Forerunner/Prothean link. But I'm pretty sure Mass Effect was more than just a thinly painted analogue of the Afghani War.

edit: If anything, the Hanar would be like the covenant. Except, you know, not insane fundamentalists.

If Mass Effect 3 goes back to its roots, that is with an inventory system (like the one from the first game, but REFINED), planet exploration (once again, REFINED), and item/weapon/armor shopping, then it will be great. Biowares method of fixing a problem by kicking it out right doesn't work for me. I love Mass Effect 1, one of my favorite top 10 games of all time. Mass Effect 2 was indeed awesome, but I like it much less and I feel like that is because they were catering to the shooter fans.

Some people hate Halo because it's popular. Some people hate it because it's "popular' to hate it.

Mass Effect always has been and always will continue to be awesome. I just hope they're over this "Chest-High Wall" cover fixation.

Also, I'm not sure you could really call the first Mass Effect "relatively unknown" after the whole "omg alien sex in a videogame!" debacle that was all over the news for at least a week. I'm sure a few people probably startedthe game and never finished because of the vehicle sections. I know I did when I tried on the 360... took me a year or two to finally get around to playing it on the PC to beat it, then play it over and over and over and over and over and over...
