Al you mofos are so lucky. Here in Florida, don't get any snow, ever.
we haven't even gotten a good hurricane in a while. It's just boring as hell here.
Give it time, man. We'll get another "Hurricane of the Century" sooner or later. Remember that whole thing about "It's been 10 years since our last really bad hurricane, so the next one will be absolutely devastating!" and nothing really happened?

OT: I hope you stocked up on salt, bud.

Huh, didn't really notice and snowstorm where I am.

It's actually quite nice here. Well, apart from the ball-shriveling cold.

Maybe other parts of Vermont got hit hard.

Sorry, I had to. :p

I've never heard of driving bans due to snow. How deep is it now?
I'm curious as well, the photo is an exaggeration (at least for Western Canada) and hereabouts we've never actually shut down car traffic due to heavy snow... things just really, really suck for awhile.

I only ever remember getting one Snow Day at school and that was way back in 1998 when we got 3 feet over night, but that's it, also I think my dad still went to work that day.
98 was the year the ice storm took out power in eastern North America for quite long periods of time. The power lines collapsed under the weight of all the ice from freezing rain. School was out for weeks in some areas and many people died using unconventional heaters(like propane BBQs) to keep themselves from freezing to death in their own home.

All that said, it was both rather horrible and uniquely beautiful.

I don't know, mid winter it usually gets too cold here for it to snow that much. 4-6 years ago we got quite the snowfall though, I remember walking down my street to go to work at night and not being able to see the houses over the snowbanks, just the light coming from the driveways in between snowbanks. That was pretty cool to experience.

Eastern Ontario took a walloping last Friday. Everything from Toronto through London was shut down. I'm in Guelph, and I had to walk to the far end of town to find a store that was still open. Every university was shut down entirely, and the busses were running late if they showed up at all.

Meanwhile, today all that snow melted and it's been raining like a ************.
That being said, it doesn't take much to get Toronto to freak out over the weather. Though I suppose on the other hand Toronto's traffic situation is pretty damn awful on the best of days so anything that makes it worse would be pretty rage inducing.
[sub]*shutters* oh god, perpetual Toronto rush hour lasting the length of time the storm affects the city... That is quite horrible...[/sub]

Snow is my mortal enemy. My car cannot handle it well at all. The last time we had a somewhat deep snow, this happened.

But your car is apparently Bumblebee from the Bayformers movies. Can't you just have him transform and carry you?

I live in Ottawa and that's just a snow storm for us. You haven't seen a blizzard.
It would seem something has gone a bit wrong with your image there, chum.
It still shows up as a pic of Emma Watson saying "***** Please" for me. Doesn't show anything...
What'd it show you?

This is going to sound worse than it is, but I wish that bad mutha' blizzard would have hit Arkansas or thereabouts.

I LOVE the cold, and thanks to climate change we haven't had a winter below 50 degrees fahrenheit in almost a decade.

I cant help but notice that for all the talking north easterns do about how bad snow storms are and how pittsburghers have no idea what real snow is, they seem to not mention so much that they just sit in their homes and ride it out. They (and i've noticed this in people from boston in particular more often than not) talk like they just continue life as normal where everyone works and not a fuck was given.

anyway stay safe I guess. though bostons being an asshole making tampa reschedule that game.

We've just started to get a little snow down here in Reading. Doubt it'll stick though, there's been too much rain.
You been to the town centre lately? Riverside by the oracle is crazy flooded most of the time. Like you cant go down the stairs by Mcdoos.

Its weird that theres another reading guy on this website though. The snow was pathetic :C Before was wayyy better.
I've had a ton of coursework lately, haven't had the chance to go. Nice to know there's at least one other Escapist here :)

Why not just have your car transform?
Because it's a Mustang. I fucking hate when people call it that knockoff bumblebee. Bumblebee was a VW Beetle, not a Camaro.

Dont mind me. I am just fighting off tornados with nothing but a shotgun and sheer American Patriotism. Thats the reason we had so few tornados and so little rain last year.

My aunt lives up that way and got hit with 3 feet of snow and 90 mph winds one day. She lives on an island too so she's not getting out anytime soon. Scary stuff in my book.

As for myself, I'm more used to a half inch of snow setting off citywide water/canned food shortages and two inches of snow meaning no school for a week. The South never fails to make me laugh.

Because everyone remembers the storm of 1978 due to it inducing a ban on driving in a single state.
I'm sure people in Massachusetts do.
I'm pretty much 100% certain that you don't have any recollection of a big snow storm that happened in your state 11 years before you were born. As well as the effects that the said storm caused.
You realize people can tell other people things, right?
