Basically it would like die hard 4. With the exception of the power grid, every single one of the things mentioned above has been attacked this year... Wonder if we'll see a black out soon now that I mention it...

So here's what I think is going to happen; I think the massive cyber attack is coming soon- and it will be blamed on the Syrians and Iranians; a cyber 9/11 to give us the mandate in mind of the public to start the war the powers that be so desperately want.

The Syrian Electronic Army, a group which emerged about a year ago- supposedly over the Truth About Muslims video on youtube (the same thing they blamed Benghazi on initially which we know now is an outright lie) has come out and said that it was the right thing for Assad to gas the people trying to topple the government.

These people are supposedly on Assad's side; Assad himself has come out and called Syrian responsibility for the attack illogical. Instead they are purposefully provoking the west, frequently hacking the media to assure coverage.

My guess? The Syrian Electronic Army is US Cyber Command.

We're going to shoot some cruise missiles over there, and then Syria will be found to be responsible for a crippling cyber attack in retaliation- and the whole thing will escalate from there. That's my guess- get your tin foil and go make me a hat.

The New York Times outage (as well as various Twitter nodes and a few other sites) is thought to have been done [http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2013/aug/28/twitter-newyorktimes-hack-syrian-electronic-army?INTCMP=ILCNETTXT3487] by the Syrian Electronic Army, through the low-tech method of scamming an admin at an ISP in India out of his login credentials, and managing to get into Melbourne IT (a domain-name registrar) possibly through those credentials. Then they just changed the DNS tables to redirect all requests for the NYT website somewhere else, and the poisoned tables apparently spread.

Al Quaeda former CIA affiliates? Yeah right.
I suppose you weren't around for the Eighties, when Ronald Reagan was calling the Mujahideen (the precursors to al-Queda) "the moral equivalent of our Founding Fathers" and sending the CIA to train them (along with half a billion dollars a year to arm them) so that they could be a better thorn in the foot of the Soviets?
