And no, don't use the Masterball on Lugia, save it for one of the wandering pokemon, like Raikou, Entei, Latios or Latias.
Mainly because you can save before you face Lugia, and just try over and over again, however with the wandering pokemon, you can never really anticipate when you'll come across them.
Once upon a time I cheated and got infinite masterballs. Since then I saw the error of my ways and never used a master ball in any game - they're still lying about to capture the all elusive Celebi (does it actually apear in silver/gold if you capture all the other pokemon?). Yeah I managed to capture all the legendary pokemon with ultra balls in gold, silver and sapphire :S don't even know how. The dogs are the most annoying though - at least Lugia stays put the first time and you have as many cracks at it as you want.
This is what I do, it's so fucking annoying because it carries from game to game. I never use the Master Ball because I like knowing no matter what Pokemon is thrown at me, I can always, always catch it with a Master Ball, but I'll never use it still. It's better to have a Master Ball and not need it, than to need a Master Ball and not have it.Marq said:

A little off topic, but I traded for a Spiritomb over Wifi and it came in a master ball. I'm not really sure if it was hacked or not, but if it is can a hacked Pokemon that was traded cause the game it was traded to to crash? Is it possible to trade hacked Pokemon?

Even if it is a totally messed up one, no it won't crash your game. "Hacked" pokemon can be legit and run in the game fine, and if they are illegal, the most they can do is prevent you from using them in wifi battles. The easiest way is to just go and pick up the Pokemon battle revolution game for the wii, and upload your team to the game, ones that are illegal for use will show up as a bad egg.oppp7 said:

OT: You've already caught it so it doesn't really matter but if you've a copy of Fire Red or Leaf Green and a DS or DS lite then you can always use the pal park to transfer one over from there with the pal park. On a speed run it only takes about an hour and a half to get to get one.
