But sometimes when I see scantily clad ladies especially in video games or comic or whatever, I just can't help think "Someone needs to tell that hussy to put on some clothes." Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy the female form and think there are classy and hot ways to show it off but then there are just trashy ways. Here is an example (and just one example, there are plenty of others too but I don't want to find them right now)

For crapsake Harley, I'll give you $50 so you can go to Old Navy and buy shirt and pants.

But didn't you know? The female skin in the world of movies/comics/games is stronger than steel and can deflect bullets! Why should they wear additional armor/clothes when their skin alone does the job?

Nearly naked lades have always sold to hot blooded young men. It's 'human nature' as they say. You sir may be the rare exception to the rule..and for that Bravo!

Personally I'd like to see a few more scantly clad men...just to make things even. >_>

The issue with revealing too much skin is that in real life, you'd perceive the person as a whore. Best off to just turn the outer, more sophisticated parts of your brain off and give into the ancestral urges. The MLP fad is really an eyesore.

In a setting that aims for realism, nudity is badly suited for combat (at least in a post stone age setting). However the world of Batman contains a flying man-alien with laservision. It's obvious the DC-verse is about as realistic as My Little Pony.

for you:

OT: I dont really have much of an opinion on it all.

yes, sometimes wearing a micro bikini into battle is a bad idea.

yes, having tons of armor is a bad idea sometimes.

As long as it makes sense for the character, example is a majority of Marvel girls sometimes, I'm okay with it.

LOL how vintage of you! Thank you. *giggle*

I do agree with that point as well. However I do find that perhaps...just perhaps...bobbies have reached a saturation point? Can you straight guys answer that for me, I don't mean it in a mean way really, is there a boobie saturation point? A point where it just becomes 'meh'. I'm genuinely curious.

Actually Harley looks more clothed than most. o_O

There is nothing wrong with hot scantily clad females in games and such. It's when they try to sell a game and convince us young men that it's good based solely on said scantily clad girl that it gets ridiculous (and when I feel insulted).

I get what you're saying, but I've been playing videogames and reading comics since I was 6. I'm sorry, but I'm just so used to it by now. I do occasionally sigh disappointedly when characters get sluttified (see The 3rd Birthday). Although it is refreshing when female characters are non-sexualized. My favourite female comic character is FoxGlove from the Sandman series; precisely because she seems like a somewhat normal, likeable character.

Regarding the pic, I'm actually more bothered by Harleys new hairstyle. I'm jaded about the outfits, but stupid hair still gets on my nerves.

EDIT: Forgot to mention: it's a matter of marketing. You may know DC is relaunching most of their titles and making the characters younger specifically to appeal to younger people and try to get new readers. Since Harleys new teammate is apparently a former member of the Street Sharks, I'm pretty sure they're aiming that comic at the youth market and hoping horniness does the rest. I guess I'm just too old to be the target demographic. It's cool. I'm looking forward to Justice League Stupid Title Dark anyway.

as a straight guy, I think that there really is a saturation point.

I mean, yea, when we are younger we drool and fantasize about boobs, but as we get older something changes.

it could be us just getting burned out, being around girls so much, or we move on. It could be different for other guys though, so dont quote me on that.

yet it could just be broken down into what we find to be attractive to us, some guys like big or small boobs, other guys like big butts, some like them small, some like them taller.

Then again, there are some of us that see a size Triple G and think "oh god..... it is going to eat me! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!"
Thank you for an honest answer! I was really expecting to be flamed into oblivion for even asking it.

It would seem that much like human sexuality , the answers are as complex as each individual person. However what I find interesting is that while boobies are quite literary'everywhere' male nudity and full exposure is still very much 'taboo'. Could it be that, in some odd way, naked and sexualised men are 'the final frontier' in terms of popular media catching on?

Then again my own perception and taste in 'sexy'men can be vastly different from other gay fellas...

Hmm lots to think on...all stemming from Harleys boobs...thanks Harley! ^_^

Yeah, though there are of course many who aren't that fussed with boobs to begin with.

There's also the fact that big boobs have become the female version of a big cock, just worse because it's in your face and obvious. If men did with their knobs what some women do with their tits then you'd have men bopping about with Blackadder sized cod pieces.

Whether the onlooker likes or dislikes it is irrelevant, it's a very arrogant and self centred thing for an individual to do.

I'm all for scantily clad women, and indeed, scantily clad men. But please, do it with some style. No, wearing very little isn't enough on it's own; come on, make an effort.

Her hair is stupid, and I only know that is Harley because someone else told me. I just don't understand how Harley went from a skin tight full body clown costume to whatever that is with really tame ICP make up on. I guess I'm more annoyed about the blatant over sexualaztion of a character than just showing off some skin.

Now take for example Powergirl, she has that circle cleavage exploser in her costume, but and that seems way classier. I mean you can still see the goods but it seems to be under her terms not because the artist wanted some wank material.

Well, you should play Batman: Arkham Asylum. Most of the henchmen are shirtless.
Granted, they're all bald, tattooed and extremely thick with clown face-paint on. But they are scantily clad.

But if they wear heavy armor, they don't get to add as much of their Dex bonus to their AC

OT: Trust me, you are not a prude. I am a prude, but I agree with what you are saying. Kids these days...
