ME3 Endings--The refusal ending could have been something....more.

I was so excited when I saw that they added a 4th option with the DLC, but then was immediately disappointed upon finding out, what it actually entailed.

Don't get me wrong I wasn't really expecting much from the extended endings, given the whole Bioware has dug itself into with their fans. And I get that the 4th option could act as a metaphor about the fans outcry and their refusal of the endings, and the whole galaxy destruction thing with hope for the future....I get it I do.

But from a purely gaming perspective this would have been the perfect opportunity to use the galaxy preparedness aspect of the entire game, and just let the 2 sides fight it out, based on how prepared you were to get into a galactic war in the first place; and not necessarily make it an automatic loss. This is the type of thing I was originally hoping for way back when I played the game in the first place, the chance to see that my earlier choices made a difference.

That being said I do understand that this is Bioware's story and while I as a fan may want something more, they can technically do with it what they wish, disappointed as I may be with it.

Just my 2 cents

Just about everyone feels the same way -- myself included. It kinda feels like Bioware telling everyone who hated the endings to go fuck themselves. I still like that the option was included though.

From a purely gaming perspective, your amassed forces aren't enough to defeat the Reapers. Several times it's stated that you cannot defeat them using conventional means.

Besides, the 4th ending is little more than an easter egg.

That's a good point, although you have to figure, reapers aren't as hard to take out as they make it seem, as Shepherd is taking one out every other mission.

yes, the problem with the ending sadly stems from bad writing from the beginning of the game.

Really there was no point in going around gathering assets if the plot device was going to fix everything and be the ultimate equalizer in the end.

From a gaming perspective, the war assets screen is completely and utterly pointless and useless.
