And while on the subject of multiplayer I just stumbled across this :
Fantastic. Thanks Fappy, that made my day.
I live to please. :D
First time I used the Drell adept my friend thought he was being Indoctrinated.
LOL. Yeah, that Reave sound bug is gets pretty damn annoying seeing as how it plays for a good 30-40 minutes straight.

And yeah Fappy, great pic. :p

Operation Raptor sounds neat if a little ill-timed. I just promoted two characters :(
:p I promoted my Engineers and Infiltrators for last weekend's operation for the bonus exp....yyyyeeeeah I'm not in too much of a hurry to promote either of them again, and I'm certainly not going to promote my new favorite class: Sentinel. Seriously, the only drawback to the Turian Sentinel is no dodging ability. Other than that, being able to spam chain-overload every 2 seconds is just ridiculously useful.

I'll probably finish up my soldiers (currently lvl 17) and then take a pick between adepts or vanguards. My problem with adepts and vanguards are the only ones that I'd be interested in are the Asari for their stasis...they would be completely badass except their dodges eat up their barriers! And at that point......why bother even dodging if you're essentially going to take a hit anyways?
In high difficulties the little bit of barrier you eat up from a dodge is pretty meaningless when everything one-shots your shield anyway. On Vanguards I usually charge in, shot gun and dodge attacks with the dash and charge in again to get the shields back I just drained. Its so quick and efficient its well worth using.

Ehhhhh I just hate the Charge ability in general. I think it's a fantastic way to look like you're TRYING to get yourself killed and thus pissing off your squadmates. Don't think I've ever seen a Vanguard fair well in Gold unless they don't use charge, which is their class' primary ability.

The last gold game I was in last night had a fan-frickin'-tastic squad: Quarian Infiltrator, Asari Adept, Salarian Engineer, Turian Sentinel (me). We were on Firebase White holding down the bottom of the map, 2 people inside the room, 2 people outside the room. Good god we were just annihilating anything that came at us...then on wave 10 we completed the objective and cleared up the map, no enemies left. Oh wait, there is one. The "One Enemy Left" marker pops up and it's...below the floor of the map...xP

Yeah Vanguards aren't all that viable in Gold. We did a Gold last night where two of us were Asari Adepts, one was a human Sentinel (built for combo since he doesn't have an asari yet) and the last guy was a Drell for aoe Reave. We did Cerberus on the lab map and holy shit it was nuts. We held the room at the very bottom of the map and had two people watching both entrances. A whole team of biotics is severely overpowered against Cerberus. Atlas' were perma-staggered lol

Yeah one of our friends wants the achievement and doesn't plan on playing Insanity so we started with the Lab since its the hardest theoretically. If you can keep enemies at bay the bottom room is really easy to hold. I never used a single item the match and I don't think I went down once.

:p I'm just afraid of those crappy "hold the circle" objectives....particularly on that map when you have to hold the same area as the extraction point. xP

I do intend to beat the game on Insanity, so if nothing else I'll be able to get the achievement that way.

Insanity in this game is really tame compared to the other two games so you shouldn't have any issues. I steamrolled it on an Infiltrator.

See that's what I'm thinking as well. You couldn't import a character and try to do insanity in ME 2 because of the upgrade system...good god you'd get eaten alive! But this game - since it's a TRUE New Game + - I think would be much easier to play through once, bump the difficulty up, and play through again. That's how ME 1 was and Insanity was really easy as well.

I impoted a new character for my Insanity playthrough so I have no idea how much easier/harder it would be with a NG+. I did a NG+ for me ME1 Insanity playthrough and it took forever to kill anything... it was also my 58-60 playthrough XP

It's pretty fun, actually. Though I do agree the N7 level system is stupid. I see no reason to promote a character. I have over a dozen respec cards and the main game bonus is a pittance. So I'll cap at 120 and stay there (I'm at 115 now, but...I quit playing as Soldiers and Sentinels, which are my only two classes that aren't at level 20).

I've had shitty luck in Silver, so started playing on Gold more. And my success rate is higher on Gold. People tend to have their shit together at that level. On Silver, I just started having all sorts of problems: People quitting, coming in woefully underleveled, being "leet snipers" who just pick off near dead enemies while not actually contributing much. People who either don't revive teammates at all, or who revive teammates in front of a bunch of enemies (including insta-killing Banshees and Phantoms).

I still have not found the Wraith. I am getting annoyed.

Ugh...the first game's Insanity is just atrocious. Hardcore is perfect. Insanity is a bullet sponge circus. Krogans just piss me off. "Yes, he's almost dead! Nooo noooo! Don't use Immunity! Dammit! Alright let's use Neural Shock + Warp + concentrated fire. And he's dead. Oh wait...no...he's not dead. NOT IMMUNITY AGAIN".

Yeah... that's pretty much spot on. At level 58 it took 12 headshots with a Spectre X sniper rifle to kill one Krogan once D:

Ever since my second playthrough of ME1 I have pretty much played on Hardcore exclusively. If you know the game well it offers the best difficulty curve.

I very much enjoy the multiplayer. I have always been a fan of co-op vs. AI multiplayer. There are many times in the past when I replayed Mass Effect 1 and 2 just for the sake of running around shooting things, so now I can just hop onto multiplayer whenever I want to do that. The large amounts of weapons and powers keeps matches from feeling like complete repetition despite the small amount of maps, plus I get to play as a Quarian now, what isn't to love about that?

Biggest issue I have with it is how Sniper Rifles seem to dominate the game. Particularly the Black Widow. The game seems to have a severe favoritism towards high power weapons that allow people to one-shot all but the hardiest foes. There were many times when I got into a match with two (competent) players using Black Widows who essentially made the entire rest of the team irrelevant. Especially Asari who bring one onto the field. Stasis + Snipe is a ridiculously potent combination and very easy to do. It becomes even worse when you find people with the Black Widow X who can body shot a large portion of enemies for one-hit kills.
There's not much good my Warp can do when a Brute goes down in two shots already. Watching a Centurion get downed from a full shield in a single shot kinda makes me feel down when my two-part Biotic explosion usually requires follow-up shots on any enemy with a shield. Watching a Banshee get taken down in less time than it would have taken me to pull out a Missile Launcher in kinda disheartening to anyone who doesn't own a Black Widow.
(This is all in regards to Silver and below, I've not played many Gold matches.)

That's minor though. Luckily the majority of games I've been in weren't sniper-centric, which makes them much more entertaining and enjoyable. Even the ones that are aren't bad matches, just a bit less exciting than I come to expect.

I love it, but I agree with a lot of sentiments here; it needs more variety. Hell, I'd have loved if they just made it it's own game, then tie it into ME3 a la Dust 512-EVE style. Knowing EA/Bioware, I have no doubt there will be more game extending DLC in the future, and as much as I disliked certain elements about 3, I'd happily pay for any expansion to multiplayer.

:p I'd imagine it would be easier...seeing as how you start out with all your favorite weapons and can upgrade them to lvl 10. Seriously, I don't see anything standing in the way of me and my Black Widow. Slap the concentration mod on there to REALLY slow people down when zooming in and the game literally becomes a shooting gallery. I actually get a rush every time I walk to a new area of battlefield and see enemies start working their way in from the boarders. I doubt I'd be able to do this on Insanity, but I love just standing there - not even in cover - and just looking around the map going "1 headshot. 2 headshots. 3 headshots. Reload. Repeat."

As for ME 1, yeah, Insanity took forever and a day to kill anything...hardest fight in the game: the krogan when you're picking up Liara from the ruins. Holy fuck that shit was HARD! But the reason everything took forever to kill was because every single enemy, even the most basic of enemy units, had the Immunity ability which grants them like, 90% damage reduction. It gets particularly silly/annoying when you're cruising in the Mako and you come up to an outpost. You'll blast a few of'em, no problem, but then the rest pop on Immunity and literally become invincible. Direct Mako cannon to the face won't kill'em, but it WILL send them flying off for miles and miles and miles as though Star Killer from Force Unleashed had just force-thrown them. :p That's where it gets silly. Seriously, you can literally launch a generic "Pirate" over a frickin' mountain range. My record distance was half the map. Shot a guy with immunity and he went flying, ran into a mountain but that just became something for him to ramp off of and go flying even further. Wanting to see if he survived or not, I drove off in the direction he went sailing. Sure enough 2 huge mountains later, I saw him down in a valley and he started taking shots at me, only had 2 bars of health missing.

Your bringing back the nightmares! STOP! D:

But yeah, that fucking Krogan on Therum kills me at least once every playthrough. Doesn't help I am like level 10 on hardcore every time I fight him lol.

I'm currently N7 150ish and i'm having a great time with it. It's alot more fun if you play with a friend who has a mic.

The only problem i'm having is i STILL haven't unlocked a bloody Krogan after about a jillion spectre packs.

I hope they do add some new maps or maybe game modes or objectives to keep it fresh... As this is one of the few games i'd actually be willing to pay for such a thing.

:p That Krogan is a HUGE pain in the ass...I think arguably the toughest boss fight in the entire series. Only way I found to make it easier was to have 2 people with AI hacking so you can hack a couple of the Geth that he comes into the room with, otherwise you just immediately get 2 rockets and a carnage to the face the moment the conversation ends.
