I actually made this topic because I have never found any book/movie/anime/videogame that has ever made me cry. Of course, I was sad at some parts because I'm involved in the story but no crying.

I came to this conclusion when my girlfriend and I were watching 'Grave of the Fireflies' a month back (something that many people recommended me) and it ended, and I'm pretty sure she cried like through 3/4's of it. So, I wanted to challenge the Escapists to see if they can reccomend me something like that and share experiences.

The only film that I have cried at is the ending to the Green Mile. Sure books and films have made me feel sad but that is the only time I cried.

Toy Story 3, it's kind of embarassing when you're in the theater at 18 and you're with your 7 and 10 year old cousins, and you're the one that's crying.
But man, it got me...

Clannad (after story) made me shed one tear; and I've never cried from any form of media before. Try it.

I almost broke down in Toy Story 3 when

They are about to get melted at the end and they all hold hands

I just barely managed to stop myself but just barely.

Season Four of Dexter, the end was really really sad. I did cry a bit.
Its my favourite T.V series by far.

In terms of media, quite a few things have gotten me sad, put a lump in my throat, or even gotten my eyes to water, but only two things have actually gotten the tears flowing.

First, was Marley and Me. Yeah, I know it's kinda lame, but I was on the final leg of a super long flight, coming home from a super long trip(that was super far from home), and I was dead tired but I couldn't fall asleep. My mental state was pretty worn down, and seeing that dog die put me over the edge. Especially since I hadn't seen my own dogs in so long.

Second, was Crash, by Jerry Spinelli(sp?). I was pretty young, and the scene where the bullied kid does something really nice for the bully and he sees what an ass he's been was really touching. I know I make it sound cheesy and stupid, but it was actually a pretty great moment.

See, I don't think that's the saddest part...

Chuckles telling Lotso's story, especially when he "turns"

...cut me up.

I would say Toy Story 3...but we actually laughed at that part where you think they are totally screwed.

Not that I liked it, but the friends I was with were all high school friends, and we had a history teacher who would also end any movie he showed us at the point where it would leave the not-so-happy ending in our minds. So when we saw this part in Toy Story 3...we instantly though "Porter-ending (teacher's lastname) right here guys!"

That said though, I cannot remember the last movie I cried during or felt like crying for. Maybe it never happened, but I don't think so. I guess I just have bad memory.

That was a brilliant episode for parts. It didn't make me cry though.

I reckon the only time I've cried at recent memory is when
Miranda dies in Rides a Dread Legion.

Pffft, I was taught that real men show their emotions. Screw the machismo stereotype, I cry if I feel like it and that's that.

I've cried at plenty of things. The Lord of the Rings has some real tear-jerker moments. You'll have to click on the links because embedding is disabled for these two:

As long as I forget the prequels, Vader's redemption and death does this for me:
And Les Miserables, particularly this song:

Mass Effect 2. The final cutscene. But oddly, not for the ending where

everyone dies
that did nothing for me. nope, what gets me is:

the death of the Collector General. poor little guy...
