Medieval RTS games for PC. suggestions?

I thought Warcraft had Elves and whatnot in it.

Orcs, Elves, Humans, Undead, etc. If your friend is really into realistic medieval stuff only I'd pass warcraft.

No one's mentioned Age of Empires 2 and the expansions? That was an excellent game.

Medieval 2 Total War hands down. Or Medieval Total War. Old and out-dated but still enjoyable.

The only RTS games I truly loved were Dune 2 (once I had the cheat programs), Siege, and Ambush at Sorinor.

Get him a game tap account, or make him an ID if you already have one.. Some of the above mentioned games are on there, and there are S##t loads of others. Would cost $10 a month, but swing him a half year to try it then let him decide from there (like a crack dealer). I use mine all the time.
Barring that, I second T.A.: Kingdoms so long as fantasy stuff is OK. Also, DOSBox and Master of Magic can destroy a weekend pretty well. (thats Turn Based though, not rts.)
I also liked AOE quite a bit.
