That was really well done, this makes me think TF2 need an equivalent of Halo's Theater mode, it could be really really good. It could produce some good quality stuff, but then again, it could just churn out a torrent of poorly made machinima.
Any who, this was really good. Not sure if it exactly sells the game though...
Um, it does exist, its called demos, and has been around since doom came out. Source recorder is much better then Halo's if you have patience, It has so many features in it.

I could have guessed the Spy was Scout because the Scout couldn't open the door in the beginning. Still funny how the soldier blew off the BLU spy's head.

The video is simply awesome. After months of nothing since Meet the Sandvich, I'd thought they'd given up on Meet the Team, but this... this was just fantastic.

Also, to people debating his nationality: the spy's country of origin is purposefully unknown. It's pretty much been left at a vague "European country of romantic language". Simply speaking a French phrase doesn't make him French.
No, but being a walking french stereotype does.
Really? The spys on my team don't surrender at every turn.
You know, there's french stereotypes besides that one. As it stands, he fits the '60s french spy stereotype.
But thats my point - what French stereotypes does he fit that don't seem to be merely vaguely European? Not philosophic, not overly rude, doesn't stink of garlic and cheese, doesn't express his hatred of Americans, doesn't play an accordion... what are these stereotypes he fits into?
The cigarettes always kind of sold me on it for some reason, but you're kind of right; he was probably intended to be the '60s spy archetype, which, although it always struck me as French, was probably vaguely European.

According to Valve TF2 lore, to be a spy in Europe you need cape and gloves.

http://www.teamfortress.com/spyupdate/

"CAPE AND GLOVES: Walk undetected through Europe. Take photos out of their top secret castles, windmills, cafes and brothels. They wont know you not from Europe until its to late- it's the PERFECT CRIME!"

Also cigaretters were very popular betewen the 30's-80's. If you wanted to be high class you needed to smoke.

Buh... Buh... there was French music when he picked up the photo! Unless the Scout's mother is French... Which I doubt.
And he says "petit chou-fleur"... :3
Iono. I like to think he is French.
True, true. Okay, fair enough, you're probably right.
...I am? I... don't recall ever making the quoted comment...

Don't worry, that happens to me all the time. I'll post a comment, it'll get quoted, and then I'll be stuck thinking "What? When did I make this post?"

Umm... No?
I made that comment. =\

Edit: Didn't mean to be mean if I came across as such
And that should've probably been "petite chou-fleur

That was pretty funny, especially when the solider was waiting for the dead spy to turn red "aaany second now...see red! Oh wait that's blood"

I think all the "meet the..." series have their moments, but this one and the soldier are my favourites so far.

While not related to a particular discussion here (I can't seem to find where it started, the supposition that the Scouts mother might be European). According to the "meet the scout" video, the scout is actually from South Boston. While this means that there is a fair chance of immigration in the last few generations, the majority of "Southies" are of Irish descent. That doesn't mean that the scout isn't french of course, but it's at least speculation based of a tiny shred of information.
