I am still kinda new to the escapist forums. I have had an account for a little over a year and not done much with it until recently. I was hoping to meet some new people to have intelligent conversations with but I ended up just lurking. Well I got tired of it and decided to start this thread in the hopes to meet some new people.
Real quick about me: I enjoy RPGs, death and black metal, RTS, and survival horrors. I do not like MMORPGs of any kind and tend to be sarcastic. I hope this is enough about me.
So tell me a little about yourself.

captcha: win hands down... I hope this does.

PS. I am really bad at introductions so don't let the lengthy topic put you off.

You forgot to mention you're also a communist dwarf which personally, I find to be the most interesting fact about you :p. Me? I love online shooters like Halo and TF2, I enjoy a variety of music ranging from hip-hop to house and I don't like mushrooms.

Want to meet new people? Join the user groups! Good place to start, excellent place to meet people who love the same things you do.

I've had the pleasure of meeting fantastic people during my user group visiting months. :p

Give it a shot, I'm sure, considering your love for RPGs and what nots, you'll find a user group to your tastes. :D

My name is my name and I am made of meat.

I'm an over the hill PC gamer pushing up 3 decades who never had a decent internet connection whilst growing up so became a Billy-No-Mates single player. Alas I have a terrible memory, particularly for trivia, so I could never really get into geeky conversations about what metal band played in Antwerp in 1987 or what D-Bridge has for breakfast which has left my musical knowledge stunted.

When I'm not playing games I ride the bus whilst clutching a plastic bag and furtively staring at girls.

I...uh...am probably one of the worser representations of gamers on this site. People here often say things like "Gaming isn't all we do!", but for me...it pretty much is. I have very few interests and yet it is not hard to be better than me at any of them whilst simultaneously having a more fulfilling life.

I like games, but I don't like many popular ones and so often feel alone.
I like anime, but probably know squat about it in general.
I like yugioh, but my deck can be beaten by my amateur brother using a structure deck.

I also overthink things, as you can probably tell from this post.
I originally planned to put:
"Timesplitters is the one true messiah.

That is all."

I know only this; I know nothing.

Also that thing about looking in to the void and not becoming the monster.

Im a Scottish gamer, geek and winger for a local ice hockey team in Milton Keynes. During the day I work as a community manager for an online bingo company, my music tastes are pretty wide but metal is probably the top genre and I enjoy comedy films. I play mainly RPGs and FPS titles but Im open to pretty much any game with the exception of the sport's genre (NHL series excluded).

I also enjoy long walks on the beach.

Hello, my name is Peanut.

I like long walks on the beach at dusk, playing RPGs, FPS-RPGs and TF2 on my PC, gardening, drinking with people I like, listening to mostly classic rock (with a couple other genres) and subtly trying to stare at people I find attractive.

I also like trampolines,...and rainbow puke avatars.

Very nice to meet you Mr Commie Shortarse!
I'm a arsehole, but don't let that stop you from loving me.
I also tend to lurk a bit, And I agree with your games taste, but not with your music, and I tend to use rare and fantastical words!
Such as Twollop.
Good sounding word, Twollop.

Oh yes, I work in a nice little caffe, and i LOVE walking.
And food.
And swing music.
And most other genre's of music.
Yeah.

I think there's too many people on these forums to meet new users and create some sort of social bond. This thread which you're doing or a smaller community you get along with is your best bet.

Hey, I'm Patrick. I made my Escapist account when I was a few years younger, and thought 'XD' was cool. Bad times.
I listen to bands that I will be invariably disappointed to realise that awfully few people know of, (The Mountain Goats, Metric, Against Me!) And one that you probably have heard of, Tegan and Sara.
I play many types of games. The only games that I ever get along with are FPS or RPG's though. I like RTS and other strategy games but I just suck at them.
Shockingly, I actually like a whole lot of the South East of England. I go for walks around the countryside fairly frequently, and enjoy an all-green horizon to look at.
I'm fairly good at school, have finished 4 A levels a year early with varying grades (AABE) and plan on heading to Uni after another year of doing not much at all at school, to study Prosthetics and Orthotics.
EDIT: Gosh darn it! How could I forget!? I play Yu Gi Oh! too. I have a pretty fun Gemini Deck and a to be completed Watt deck. Both stapleless because I believe in the power of the cards an' all that.
Is that still a little bit, or is it a lot? I'm a poor judge of these things.
Regardless, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance!

Mr. GameBrain

I joined this community a long time ago, but I left pretty quickly since the community at that time was almost insufferable.

So far this place seems to have matured a bit more, and I was bored with the Telltale forums (Its a smaller community, and a bit slower. So I like to take a break from it sometimes), so I've come back for a while.

So what I feel comfortable about sharing with people.

Alright. I've been a gamer since a young child. I was born in 1991, however, as a child I was exposed to SNES and Genesis gaming for a good few years before moving on to the next era.
In a way I knew both old-school and new-school gaming first hand, and I appreciate the qualities of both.

My gaming tastes are very varied. I'll play anything, barring sports and racing games, (Mario Kart the obvious exception! :D), and I have a love/hate relationship with RTS games.

I own a Master System, Genesis, Dreamcast, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, PS1, PS2, PS3, Gameboy, GBC, GBA, Neo Geo Pocket Color, PSP, DS, 3DS, Caanoo, Raspberry Pi, several PCs, Xbox, and a Xbox 360.

I recently purchased a Sega Saturn. (not played it much. Need some spare money to buy more games for it)

I own a converted MAME arcade machine that serves as a jump-in gaming for myself and my family, and I live in the UK (South East England, near-ish to London)

I currently do a Management Degree at uni, and am currently looking for placements (not doing so well sadly... :( ), but my real dream is to be a Game Designer. (Haven't got anywhere with that either)

I am quite loud and extrovert on the internet, but in real life I'm actually very timid, though I hide it fairly well.

I certianly wouldn't want to take risks thats for sure! XD

I'm pretty technically proficient as well. People ask for my help with stuff all the time.
I'm a bit of a mug because I help them... -_-

aaaand thats it for now. Nice meeting you.

I'm not good with telling people stuff about me.

Wait... That counts doesn't it?

ABORT! ABORT!

OT: I like survival horror and zombie movies, but also kittens and fuzzy adorable stuff. I do crappy little chibi drawings (trying to make a webcomic out of it) and in my spare time I sleep a lot.

Welcome to the Not-Lurking side of the Escapist!

Greetings.
Well I joined about 1 month ago, and have already probably managed to alienate about 80% of escapists.
Here in the land of kilts, haggis and irn-bru. It rains most of the time, but it's fine I like it. I do like the countryside.
Gaming wise mainly FPS, adventure/rpg, driving(now and again) and am mainly a solitary gamer.
I also read, mainly history books and like to garner 'useless' and random information. It helps at parties.
Did you know that unlike most fish, the electric eel cannot get enough oxygen from water. And so has to surface roughly every five-ten minutes to breathe.
Most music is fine, as long as it sounds good.
